Hey everybody!

Just a "check in" with everyone!  I'm still here.  I've been alittle frustrated.  I'm still at 200#  I wanted to be in onederland for Valentines day and I've been sitting here everysince!!  I've been eating good and getting my protien in - water could be better....  When I say something about it to my friends/family they all say "Well!  Geez you've lost 68 pounds!"  and I know that, but its been almost 5 weeks and NO weight lost.  Does anyone think its an issue?  I am loosing my hair - BAD!  I have taken away my drinks with meals, thinking I was "cheating" my pouch on accident.  So, it was back to the drawing board.  I'm not depressed or anything - but would like to see some change on the scales.  I haven't been formally excercising, but I have been helping my Grandmother in her new house, painting and runing back and forth moving (for hours on end!)  We worked on our farm all last weekend  - so I'm not sitting on the couch.   Any new approach?  ...How do others deal with it?  sorry so long...just needed to stomp my feet and whine alittle bit....

Don't worry about the stall, I too, hit a stall for about 4 weeks.  Even would go up a couple lbs and then back down and was trying to get below 200 by my birthday on Feb 11th.  Of course, that did not happen. But, yesterday morning got up and weighed and low and behold, 198!  I think upping my water intake has helped alot.  I don't drink for 30 mins before a meal or 20 mins after.  I probably get minimum amt of required protein in and try bumping it up by adding protein drink back in.  I don't do alot of exercise, about 30 mins a day on mini stepper (sometimes not every day).  Right now, it has been a week since using it, since I am recovering from my appendectomy.  And still lost weight, amazing. Just realize, no matter what, the weight is going to come off.  Sometimes it will be slower (body is regrouping) and other times faster.  Don't fret about it.  Enjoy what you have accomplished so far and don't compare yourself to others.

Sorry I can't be of much help since I haven't been there...  But, just keep following the rules and something is bound to happen. Is the protein you are getting LEAN?  Try not to eat fatty protein.  That is about all I can think of! Hope you get over the slump soon! Dot

The good news is you have lost alot of weight in a short period of time. The bad news is is this your body has to adjust to the loss, sometimes it takes awhile for it to do but in the mean time dont look at the pounds you have lost but the inches. During this time your body will not shrink pounds but will inches . Exercise just a little more or change the routine to stimulate the body and make it say UH what is this about. AND GET IN THE PROTEIN AND WATER. Even if you have to set a timer to remind yourself to drink. As for the hair loss, your hair and nails grow in 3 month cycles, so the way the hair is doing now is from 3 months ago. Ask yourself what was your potein levels like then...plus dont forget antheshia(sp) will make you lose hair also. Since I have had 4 surgeries since my rny my hair loss is pretty bad. I take biotin once a day(u can buy it at wal-mart) and I use a mint tea shampoo just for folks like us. As before get your protein and water in. Make sure you get the vitamins and supplements in all so. Plus your are not alone.....hope you have a great week end...Pattye

i know exactly how you feel , it is so frustrating , i am exercising alot right now .  I dont think anyone who hasnt been there can understand how much we just want to be in the 100's , even if it is just 199, i hit 199 then im back up to 200 , i am going to work my butt off in the gym !!!! I talked to Dr G about it and he explained the fight going on inside my body to hold on to the fat cells !!!!!!  I wanted to be in the 100's by V day too but it didnt happen so i just moved on lol  We can do this !!!!!!

It's nice (in a weird way) that some have had the same issues.  Even thought I know that it will pass and I WILL get out of the 200#s, just talking to someone about it is what keeps me from listening to the little devil on my shoulder.  Really, I don't know where I would be without my friends at OH.  Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.  I was getting worried that my plateau had lasted this long.  But, I guess my body is working on it!   For now, its raspberries to the scale monster!!!!

I too am looking forward to onederland. I have hit about 3 plateaus, but then bam! It's probably good to plateau every now and then to let the body catch up. I have some hangly danglies but not as bad as it could be. I need to up the exercise routine, and I've upped my water which helps. I just keep reminding myself that I'd be happy to be a size 20, but that's behind me. I'm a size 16 now so my wedding dress is officially too big for me!!! (I got married in 1985). Just keep reminding yourself that you're getting healthy, and it's going to come off. You're not doing anything wrong. Pat yourself on the back for the 68 pounds!
