I was wanting to ask any that know what days Dr. Broussard does surgeries on?  Is it everyday?  I thought I saw someone post they had theirs on a Sunday.  Just curious.

I do not know what days of the week Dr. B dose surgeries...but I do know that my insurance had approved my husband and two weeks later I was still not approved.  My paperwork was sent at the same time as my husbands but he hadn't yet met his out of pocket and I had.  I think the insurance was putting off my approval for that reason.  The staff called the insurance several times and finally my insurance approved me.  Brandi called and set up the surgery for 12/27. The hospital was packed with end of the year surgeries and they added me to the crowd.  It saved me 2500.00.  The staff told me once a lady was approved on 12/30 at 4 or 5 pm Friday night and Dr. B did her surgery on 12/31-a Saturday so that she wouldn't have to get hit with the deductible again. I would call the office and ask them what days he does surgery.

Hi, Dr. Broussard usually does his surgeries on Mondays and Wednesdays. However, that is not carved in stone. If someone had theirs on Sunday it was more than likely due to an urgent matter.

I think the standard answer to that is Monday and Wednesdays.  It is very dependant on the time of year, the number needing scheduled, on-call schedules, hospital admissions (they do plastics as well).  Drs Walton & Broussard both like to get their patients out of the hospital before the weekend if they can, not so they can have the weekend off, but just for the convenience of the patient and the additional recovery times. Also, it helps with the staff scheduling if they can be a little structured because of the rotations of the staff, etc.  I know both docs will spin on a dime to schedule something if it is in the best interest of the patient - such as the end of year deductibles, urgency, etc.  They are gems both of them. My saviors!! It was great seeing such a LARGE turnout at support group last night!  It was crazy full!  And the questions during the roundtable were great!!   R

Sorry can't help with your question but would suggest this, not many surgeons are going to schedule surgery on a Sunday due to staffing... I heard that the support group meetings are fantastic...I just might slip in one night when I find out where and when they are...Good luck

Patty you are always welcome at the Weightwise support groups!  You can find the schedule at www.weightwise.com, click on events and then support groups.  There are band groups and RNY/sleeve groups, but you can attend either - the speakers are normally the same for all groups.  Where they differ is in the roundtable discussions basically you will see most questions geared toward the specific patient type.  There are 2 RNY/sleeve support groups each month, one last night and the 2nd in 2 weeks.  The band group is the 1st Tues of each month.  There is also a graduate group that meets quarterly - next meeting is Apr 16. We invite anyone to our support groups regardless of what practice they are with.  You are welcome anytime!  I usually attend the RNY/sleeve support group - for a while I will be attending both meetings each month to make sure there is at least one graduate in the group.  We have a huge group of new patients coming through and the older patients are used to the early meeting date, so last month the 2nd meeting there were only 2 graduates.  But its all good! They also have the Marketplace open on support group nights so that is available to anyone who needs to check it out! Thanks!! R
