Need Info on Lap Band

I had Gastric Bypass in 2002.  I am now trying to find info on the Lap Band for a friend.  I had a great experience with the surgery, but he needs less recovery time.  Can anyone give me info on who is the best surgeon in the Tulsa area and what hospital?  And what is the backlog of surgery dates like? What is the typical recovery time? 

I am having surgery March 27th (RNY) with Dr.Gorospe there in Owasso at Bailey Medical.  If I am correct the doctor you used used to be in practice with Dr. G a few years back but no longer does the surgery.  Dr's Goropse and Kirk have a very large support group and the facilities at Bailey are brand new and very state of the art. 

My surgery was on the 28th, 6 years ago.  Ive kept all of the weight off   It changed my life.  As far as I can tell Dr. B is long gone.  How long is the backlog for Dr. K or Dr G.  Is the wait shorter with Dr. K?  He is signed up for the meeting.  We actually live only a couple of miles from Bailey.   Can you give me a run down of the time when the surgery became a thought to now.  What appointments did you have? Hi      I had my Lap band surgery about one year ago. Dr Gorospe and Dr Kirk are my doctors, for me, they are the BEST!   I loved them ;-0 Their after care program is very good and  they are always available for Questions during the Support Group meeting. I get a fill every 8 weeks approximately at Bailey's hospital.   The total time bewteen my first appointment and the surgery was about three months. The recovery from the surgery was about 3-4 days.  My surgery was on Wednesday and I went back to work on Monday. As of Today, I had lost approx 85 pounds and my experience has been very good. It is a lifestyle change but it is worthy every minute.   Good luck  to your friend!! Lis

That is exciting.  We live in Owasso, so that will be very convenient.  I have alot of questions because it is so different than what I had.  The short recovery is the leading reason for choosing the Lap Band.
