Clear Liquids

Tomorrow I have to have clear liquids until midnight and I'm needing suggestions on what you did when you were on clear liquids before surgery.  So far I'm thinking clear gatorade, broth, water, is there anything else that can pass for clear liquids.  I can not have anything with red or purple dye in it since I have surgery on Monday.  Any suggestions would be very helpful.  Thank you.

I honestly can't remember even though it was in October. I know I did water..didn't do broth until after surgery.  I also haven't had Gatorade since before my diet began in June for pre-surgery. I'm thinking mine was just liquid and avoiding red or purple. How about Sierra Mist free or Diet 7-Up or Sprite Zero? There's no caffeine in those and no coloring. If you call the hospital the nurses on staff there are very helpful and can answer your questions. Crickett was one of mine.

Oh, and congrats on your diet! I have to go back home to Enid this weekend, so if I don't talk to you before then, I'll see you on the other side. Advice: Walk, walk, walk, walk in the hospital as soon as you can and as often as you can. It helps!

How about Propel (made by gatorade) and it is good for after surgery too since it only has 4g of sugar.  Regular gatorade has too much sugar.  My favorite is the Raspberry Lemonade flavor. Best Wishes for you!

Hey girl, I had chicken broth, and sf pop sickles minus the red and purple ones. Also did water and propel. Thought I was going to starve before the day was over. I haven't felt that way since, thanks to God and Dr. Walton.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and I'm on my way to shop for goodies to go with the ones I already have now.  I will see you on the other side so keep my place warm for me and I will talk to you when I get home.

I'm so excited for you Wynotha! When the going gets tough just think of the new thinner you! I am not even half way to goal yet and my 17 year old is calling me skinny. (Please!)  She hugged me this morning and was amazed at how easy it was to get her arms around my body. She encourages me daily with her comments about how good I look.  She knows the RNY was not the easy wasy out and she is so proud of me. That's a big deal for her because she's not usually the encouraging type of person.   It will be you sooooon!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wynotha-you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I didn't make support group today, I had to go pick up a bundle.  Bundle is now asleep in my living room in a clothes basket.
