Done with the Stress Test

I just returned from my stress test.  I found out the reason for the two day test.  They told me that because of my high BMI, that they had to use more radioactive isotope in me and if they did the whole test in one day, I would have three times what they would use on a normal person, and that was against DEQ rules.  So, they did the adenosine injection and it was awful as I suspected it would be.  I thought an elephant was sitting on my chest and my neck hurt and my face was on fire.  So after that they told me to go down to the cafeteria and eat something and drink caffeine (because caffeine is an antedote to the adenosine) and I thought to myself that’s like telling an alcoholic to go down to the bar and have a drink! LOL,

Anyway, I got a drink and ate my protein bar and went back for the pictures about 40 minutes later.   Tomorrow, they said I would go in and they would inject me again with the radioactive isotope, have me eat something, then come back in 40 minutes and they would take the pictures of me in the “resting” state.

Hopefully, all of the test results will be good and I will get the cardiac clearance for my surgery.  I go back, Mon. Mar 3rd for my next follow-up.

Good luck on your testing.  You're one step closer.

Sounds like you got the worst part behind you. Yeah, it was pretty miserable. While I was lying there feeling overwhelmed I kept repeating "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". It got me through it. Good Luck

Yep, that's pretty much how I felt too!  I bet you're glad to get that over with!
