Newbie here!
Wow, this is really exciting to see more patients of Dr. Broussard. I have finally got my 10% off and my lap band surgery is two weeks from today. Chris, nutritionist, will work with you to get that weight off as quick as possible and you will be having your surgery before you know it.
This is a great Board to get advise, support and encouragement when you need it. Come here often so we can get to know you. I don't visit the main board very often they seem to argue about something or another quite often so I stay here where it is more congenial.
Wishing you success and positive "losers" vibes to both of you. Make sure you go to your support group meetings other than the mandatory one they will really encourage you and you can ask anything you want to ask. Dr. Keller is great and easy to talk to in his office or in the support group.

Congrats on the surgery date! I can't wait till I get my 10% off. I went for my first follow up today and I'm down 12 lbs in two weeks. So 25 more to go!!! They changed my diet today to one meal a day and five supplements. I'll be glad to have the surgery so I won't be hungry any more. I'll take that advice and stay on the OK board. Did you see the cardiologist? If so, what did they do to you?
Liz
Congrats to everyone!!!
I saw my cardiologist and she had me do a stress test on the treadmill. My husband saw a cardiologist recommended by Dr. B and they did a chemical stress test on him rather than the treadmill stress test. It was the best blessing we have ever received because he had 3 blockages and ended up having open heart surgery in October. He had his gastric bypass 1/29. He is doing great...a little cranky though That is not his normal self but I am sure he'll be back to himself in no time.
The treadmill stress test wasn't hard. I had to walk for at least 6 minutes. It keeps going faster and faster and faster. I was so nervous about it but it all went fine. Sounds like you are well on your way!
Good luck to you both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONEDERLAND!!!! FINALLY!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!
Welcome to all the newbies!! It is really great to see so many of the Weightwise gang here!! I can't wait to meet you guys at Support Group! Stick to your programs and you will be at the surgery room door in no time! Chris and Jess haven't killed anyone yet with their dietary plans, so just stick with them and they will get you where you need to go!
Chris is my dietitian as well and she rolls her eyes at me all the time!!! (LMAO) But I have lost over 150 lbs with her at the helm so she is doing something right!
Don't forget that there are now two support groups each month for the RNY and Sleeve patients. Check the schedule. I will probably try to hit them both for a while to keep things stable like during our "old" groups. I am a long termer so I'm sure Dr. Keller would appreciate some oldies there!
Let us know what we can do for you!

COURAGE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF FEAR BUT RATHER
THE ABILITY TO CONTINUE IN THE PRESENCE OF FEAR.
I already had a cardiologist before doing this. He had me do the thallium chemical stress test and it was a little weird but is didn't last long. It is all administered through an IV and lots of pictures. The thallium test only lasted 4 minutes and you do feel quite a bit of pressure in your chest, but try to focus on something fun. I thought about my trip to St Thomas and kept telling myself to breathe and it will soon be over and it was. As soon as they stop the thallium you feel back to normal. I didn't have any problems so I was quickly cleared to have surgery.
