Sooner Care

Anyone else had sooner care as insurance?  My pcps office is really getting on my nerves. I have the surgeon office tell her what needs to be done. I have told her what she needs to do but she still acts like she doesnt know what to do. I am at the point that I want to just go do it myself! of course I cant. its so fusterating. its gotten to the point that when I call they put me on hold and dont come back to the phone. i waited like 15 minutes  one day for someone to come back.. finally i just hung up.. so now when i am on hold more than 3 min i hang up. i am starting to get really annoyed. I am trying so hard to be nice but its getting to me and I am close to going the "old" sherrie on her. I have worked so hard this last year on working on not being so abrasive.. they are really trying me..  ok enough grumping..

you might have to go down there and hold their hands while they do it!!  Like, plant yourself there in the office and don't leave until they know what they need to do and they do it for you! Hope you get them set straight soon!

Hello sherrie!! first of all if you are grumping, you have the right to feel how you do!! Soonercare knows they will cover the surgery if: your prinary doctor recommends it, backs that up with a letter to them, you have attended a bariatric surgery seminar, and have had a consultation with a surgeon.  The catch is they will ignore you, drag their feet, in other words, they will do anything and everything to make you lose faith and stop trying!! How do I know? Well, I was in your exact shoes!! I had a torn acl, lcl and nerve damage in my right knee that occured from a horrible fall.  I then had ruptured and disentegrating discs in my back as a result of the fall.  I had horrible diabetes, arthritis, asthma and these things did not allow me to even exercise!!! They wanted to do surgery on my back, but they would not touch me until I dropped at least 100 pounds!  they even provided letters, mri's and sworn statements to sooner care!  How did I end up getting my surgery after  2+year battle?  The surgeons decided to pay for every test, hospital stay, surgery and any needed medications.  Once that was done, they fought the attorneys at sooner care to recover their money!  Maybe you should find a surgeon who will work with you to provide the same.  Many bariatric surgeons here in Oklahoma will perform several pro bono surgeries every year.  Find one who will work with you.  It will take work, dedication and not giving up on your part to make this happen!! I can be a nice person, or I can be the b word.. well a bit of the B came out yesterday after I called the dr office and got put on hold for 5 min and no one came back to the phone, i had to hang up and call back twice. the third time i informed them that I pay for my phone by the minute and they owed me for the 10 minutes i was on hold..lol.. wasnt long and the lady i asked for was on the phone. I asked her if she needed me to come to the office and get everything in order and send it to soonercare myself.. she said "no no i will work on it tomorrow.. "I said "ok so when i come in the office on monday it will be all done?" lol.. she said she hoped so, i said "me too cause i am unemployed now and I have all the time in the world to help you get this straight.". lol.. think that will get the move on? Ok maybe a little extreme but I will do it if I have to. Soonercare has told me basically that i quailify as long as all my paperwork is in order and is submitted correctly. god only knows what that means. soonercare also informed me that if the dr office doesnt submit it in a timely manner (they havent) then i can make a complaint and go to another doctor to have it submitted. grrrrrrrrrr..  I can say that if the dr office thought i was a pain in the tooshy when i was working by calling 2 or 3 times  a week.. they are really going to be in pain now that i have time to call every day.. at least once a day. i figure if nothing else i will annoy them so much they will do it to get rid of me.
