Any suggestions???
Thank to everyone for there input. I am waiting on a call from Dr. Keiths office. I have to have the long laundry list for my insurance also. I have to have been on a Dr. monitered diet for 6 months within the last two years. Of course I was on one about 2 1/2 years ago. So the guy that takes care of all of the finance info said we could go ahead and submit it to insurance and they will accept or deny it depends on there mood that day. Anyway I am going Thursday to start on another Dr. monitered diet so I can get my 6 months started in case they dont approve. About the pregnancy question. I had a baby last July 5. My husband and I decided we were going to start over again we have a 16 and 11 year old. Anyway I was going threw his cloths Sunday to put away what did not fit and asked my husband if we were through having children that we needed to hand these cloths on so someone that could get good use out of them. Anyway now he is thinking we should have one more. So I have been debating weather to diet for 6 months and get that out of the way for insurance then try to get pregnant or go ahead and get the surgery then get pregnant. They only thing that I am worried about is insurance. I don't want my husbands employer to take wls off as an option because this is the first year they have chose it for an option. So I am up in the air as to what to do. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
What surgery are you planning on having? If you get the band, they can always take the fluid out of it during your pregnancy and then put it back in afterward when you are ready to lose weight again...
Other than that, I think it is a totally individual decision as to what order you do things... I'm with you on worrying about the company all of a sudden deciding to take wls off of the benefits package!! Plus, since you just had a baby, what kind of time frame are you thinking about? How soon do you plan on getting pregnant?
If you want more time between kids (so you can wait 12 to 18 months after surgery) then I say have the surgery now, then pregnancy. If you don't want to have to wait that long between kids... Then, maybe you should put the surgery off and have the baby first...
Like I said, it is totally individual! Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
