Cindy: Saw your profile and that you are having Dr. Gorospe do your surgery. You will be so happy with him. Mine was 3 years ago with Dr. Gorospe and I would not have wanted anyone else to do my RNY than him. I have done perfectly. Can eat all things (within small moderation). Some people can't so I feel that is such a blessing. I do however, have to monitor the sugar, which I am very happy about, I eat mostly sugarfree. One suggestion I have for you with the protein. I could not drink the flavored proteins, they just made me gag. (Well, I did in the hospital and for a few days after since I couldn't trial and error too much). But, know I buy the non-flavored type, put a cup of low cal milk, a cup of fresh fruit, one scoop of the non-flavored protein & about 1 scoop of splenda. I freeze the fruit so it is like a shake. It is wonderful and usually around 24 grms of protein. Also, there is a protein bar called pure protein I buy at Sams which has 24 grms of protein. They are the peanut butter bars. They are good as well to help get in the protein and filling too. Anyway, just thought I might share a little with you. I will keep you in my prayers on Tuesday. I know everything will go well for you and you will be on your way to a whole new you. Rita
Thank you sooo much for your kind words... i am definately going to check into the non-flavored protein. post-op I drank slim fast high protein, I did like it and was able to drink it but the other one I tried was a no go. I didnt want to waste my money on trying alot of them since everyone says after surgery your taste change. I do the trial and error more after. I am anxious. Thanks for the prayers and I am loving my dr and the staff!!!
