pre-op dieting
I don't think I'm doing a very good job of dieting.
I saw Dr. K on the 23rd but didn't really start dieting until the 27th because I had a "birthday dinner" to go to on the 26th.
I fell off the wagon on the 28th when I rode up to Pittsburg KS with a friend to keep her company (she bought lunch).
I'm not eating as much as I COULD be... But, I'm not doing a very good job of following the diet the dietitian gave me either. Actually, I've been trying to follow it today, and I don't think I'm going to get all of that protein in!! I'm craving carbs... I'm trying to eat protein or drink water when I have cravings.
My scale says I'm down 2 lbs. I don't know if they really want me to lose a certain amount of weight or if they just want to make sure I don't GAIN any weight!
UGH... I hope I do well enough!
Since they didn't tell you how much you should lose, then any amount of loss is fine. I first weighed in August and then my second weigh in was in January and I had gained 1/2 lb. but they were still going to go ahead with surgery. Then I found out I had to do a six month diet and lost 33 lbs. with Weigh****chers before surgery.
I know what you mean about the carbs----they're constantly calling me saying "Eat me---I'll make you feel so good!"
I think I've done OK staying away from carbs yesterday and today... But, my 14 year old, Serena, asked me to buy some pretzels yesterday... They are sitting on her computer desk right now (which is within arms reach of me NOW!) I'll confess, I ate ONE pretzel stick. I put it in my mouth and sucked the salt off of it, let it get soft in my mouth and then ate it! Yes, I ATE it... BUT, only ONE!!!
Sorry if that description of eating a pretzel stick was too graphic!
