I've got to get serious!!!
Well, since I had my consultation with Dr. Katsis last week, I have got to get serious about dieting and losing some weight pre-op.
I go back on February 21 for a weight check and to get my blood work orders and I have to have LOST weight to get scheduled for surgery! If I gain weight he can refuse to do surgery at all!
Tonight we went out to eat (Chinese) with my in-laws to celebrate hubby's b-day, my b-day, and sister-in-law's b-day who are all in January. I did not hold back. But, I plan on that being my LAST meal before getting down and dirty on the dieting. I went "diet" food shopping last night...
The NUT outlined my diet plan for me. I'm on 1500 calories, I have a certain number of servings I should have from each group and the servings have to be REAL servings!! lol Not my NORMAL servings!
Help me out here, guys... I really need to stay on track!
Thanks
Dot
I just made myself a little food journal in Word. I'm going to try to check off servings of each food group and do what the NUT has outlined for me. I even have a place to put my exercise (I have a membership to curves that I'm wasting my money on) and check boxes for all 8 glasses of water to total 64 oz. a day!
Now, if I can remember to USE my journal!!
hubby will be in Texas this whole week. That will make it harder. It will be so easy to run through the drive thru for JUNK!
(Note to self: Think SALAD!)
Thanks guys for your support!
Dot, I know you can do this. You have been encouraging to me and I want to be there for you. Just take it one meal at a time. Go to Curves when the kids are at school. Prepare your meals ahead of time. Cook things that your whole family can eat not different ones. Think of fast food as poison to your body as well as to your kids bodies. Drink, drink, drink tha****er it will help to wash the broken down fat and calories from your body especially since you will be working out at Curves. I like to cook most of my meals on Sunday afternoon then it becomes "fast food" during the week.
Take care and let us know each day how it is going for you. We are all here for you.

My new fast food is cans of tuna and chicken. Either one, dumped into a nice soup base, will make one or two meals full of protein.
Also, a crockpot full of veggies makes a wonderful stew-you can add a different meat each time you use a batch-mmmm mmmm good.
Think of this is as your first introduction to your new lifestyle-eating good food is, well, good for you and you'll feel better.
Dot:
Best of luck with your dieting. I am 3 years out. Gastic Bypass was the best decision I ever made for me. I had to see a dietician before surgery as well. I just lost a few pounds prior to surgery and 111 after surgery. I went through the Last Meal and Testament a couple of times before surgery, so don't feel bad if you eat what you want when you want prior to surgery. Just don't beat yourself up as it will all come soon enough when you are on that 2 week liquid diet after the procedure is done. You will be so excited to have the procedure completed and on your way to a brand new you. Your likes and dislikes will change, I promise. Everyone kept telling me the same thing and it was so hard for me to believe, but, it really does happen and the procedure really does change everything. Keep positive and it will all happen before you know it.
