I have to see my PCP about getting my levels up.  My HDL is only 32 and it needs to be 40 plus.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, what are you doing about it?  I'm not looking forward to starting another medication but I will if it will keep my heart healthy. Hey Carrie! Glad to see you got your century card.  If I remember correctly, exercise and a glass of red wine a day can help get HDL levels up.  Also, a Cardiologist I used to work with also mentioned sex as a way of increasing HDL's.  Oh, what a sacrifice! Michelle

Thanks for your reply.  I work out at the gym 3 times per week.  I don't drink so wine would not help.  I just don't like the taste of it.  Hmmm.... sex can raise the HDL levels?   That would be better than taking meds.

Someone on the main boards said they started taking fish oil to bring up the level.  I might start with that.

My HDL is low and LDL is high...  I wasn't told anything in particular to do to get the HDL up other than change my eating to change total cholesterol.  I've never been on cholesterol meds either though.  I hope you figure it out...
