I am so so so sad. My Van is offically DEAD! Hubby tried cpr and it just didnt help. I will miss her. I know she was old and had many miles. but I just feel so comfy in her. I hate driving my daughters or hubby's cars. They are so cramped and NOT MINE! I told hubby I was not going to get another car for awhile. We just got the Van paid for 6 mo ago! So we bought him a SUV. I dont want another car pmt. between his pmt and having to help my daughter sometimes.. its killing us. I am just gonna miss the Van so much. okay I am done rambling... thanks for listening. sherrie

Sorry about your van Sherrie!  I know what you mean about getting a different car.  When I was at my heaviest I dreaded the thought of finding a new car because when I took a test drive I'd have to put the seat back as far as possible from the steering wheel and also tilt the steering wheel up as far as it would go.  When I tilted the steering wheel down to drive it would still rub on my belly.

Now I don't have those worries anymore!  That steering wheel is getting further and further away from me.  Also, I'm wearing my seat belt now since I don't have such a big struggle to fasten it.  I always thought if I had an accident there was no way my huge body would go anywhere.

Payments are a factor for me too.  We're making a truck and motorcycle payments now but the truck will be paid off this fall so I may hold out until then to get a new car.

Sorry about your van Sherrie.  I worry about my van too.  I paid mine off almost a year ago.  My last payment was last February.  But, Josh bought a NEW car last year also in February, so we have never been without payments.  We just couldn't afford two payments.  His car is our livelihood though.  He uses it every day to drive from Bartlesville to Tulsa to work, so he puts a LOT of miles on cars.  His car is on a 6 year note, so it will be another 5 years before we'll be without a payment and by then HE'LL need another car!  We also have a 14 year old who will be wanting a car within the next year or two.  Just know that many of us are in the same boat as you.

Thank you all. I have decided that we will try to trade the van in as soon as my daughter starts getting her regular paychecks from her new job. she just started tuesday. even though she is only working a few weekdays and weekends she should make enough to pay her car pmt so then I will be able to put my money towards another car. Even though I hate the thought of giving up the van.. I am now on a mission to find me an old fiero and fix it up.
