Okay guys, who know about the foamies? I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow, and twice today I have thrown up foam. I'm not doing anything different. I work in a Bariatric Hospital and have never heard of this from any of my patients or Dr. Anyone know what causes it? Thanks for your help.

I'm pre-op, so I can't really help you, but I know that I've heard of other people having this problem...  so, I know you aren't the only one.

I haven't had episode as yet, hope I don't.  There is alot of talk about foamies on the main board.  I think it comes from eating too fast.  But to be sure, post your question on main board for more to see and respond.

I have had them, usually from eating to fast and not chewing enough.  Also if I just ate to much one bite to much it starts for me.  I found that sipping a cup of hot tea will get things moving a little, at least twice it has helped me.  Although I am only about 6 weeks out so I am still learning too.

Crickett: Yep - the foamies are a part of us now.  Yes, sometimes eating too fast and sometimes the wrong things that our little pouchies don't like.  It may be allowed but all of us have different likes and dislikes.  I got to calling mine "grouchy pouchy" for a while.  You remember me and my personal bed in the step down room!!  Of course that was on top of the dehydration, stricture and ulcer too.  But anyway!!!   Slow down and definitely chew chew chew.  Sometimes if you have had the foamies do liquids for a couple of meals instead because it can irritate our pouch. Hang in there.  You know you can call me if you need me! Ruth

I've never had them so I'm not sure. Maybe chew your food more?  Not sure on this one.

I've never had foamies either.  But I've had three instances where I had pain and had to throw up because I ate too fast.

I have not had the foamies yet. I hope I don't. I have had some food feel like it was stuck especially if I eat to fast.  Tressa
