Please help in this trial...

I've invited a lot of you who are on my friends list to join in on a new trial group that Obesity Help is experimenting with.  There are 5 leaders (including myself) who have volunteered to get the groups up and going and see if they will work or not. These groups are basically just like this Oklahoma board...but it is specific to support group leaders.  You can think of it as an online support group.  We can cover anything and everything that you would like.  It is not surgery type specific or surgeon specific. For those of you who would like to be added to this group, if I have not already sent you an invite (because you might not be on my friends list yet) please send me a friends request and we'll get you on this new group. For those of you who have already been added...please participate and post as much as you possibly can so that we can really put this to the test.  I would appreciate posted on the group any feedback about the group that you can possibly give, i.e., what you like or dislike; what you would like to see added or taken off, etc.  Please be as critical as you would like to be. So far we've got several people on there...but no posts.  If any of you have lost the link to that was emailed to you, please send me a PM and I'll send it to you. I will be having my lap band done this month.  I would like to join a surport group.  If I can I would like to be added.

I checked out the link.  It sounds like it's just for lap-band people.  What is the purpose of this group and how will it be different from the Oklahoma board?

The group is for anyone and everyone regardless of surgery type. Band of Distinction is the name of the support group I lead at Integris Baptist so I just kept that name for this support group trial through OH. The purpose is to try to get a support group type setting going with OH trained leaders. Again, it's just a trial and it's open for suggestion.  So far it is going really slow but I am hopeful to see the outcome.  We are curious what people want as far as online support. So, if you want to help out in the trial...please come! Tonja
