Vertical Sleeve, Dr Walton
pearbait:
I didn't have the vertical sleeve but I am a RNY patient of Dr Walton's. Both doctors are wonderful men, great clinicians and surgeons! There are bunches of vertical sleeves being done and they are having good success from what I am hearing. There is a support group meeting Thursday, Jan 4 at 6:00 pm at Foundation. All person's are welcome - no matter whether they are a member of the program or not. There are usually some sleeve patients there you could talk to as well. If you haven't been to an information seminar, that is a free seminar where the surgeons talk about all the services available. You can find additional information on the www.weightwise.com website. There are even videos of the docs talking about each surgery.
I owe my life and health to both Dr Walton and Dr Broussard. IMO you won't find a better program available in the state. But you will have to decide that for yourself as well. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you find the answers or point you in the right direction. If you are coming to the support group, let me know and I will be happy to host you as well!
Good luck in your search for information!

THE ABILITY TO CONTINUE IN THE PRESENCE OF FEAR.
Ruth,
Thank you for the reply, I think I agree with you about the Dr's...I have only met Dr Walton and was very impresses.... I won't be able to make the meeting this thursday, maybe at a later date. I will let you know if I plan on attending. I am sure i will have some questions too.. Thanks for the response and hope to keep in touch!
Echoing everything already said on here. However, one of my nurses in pre-op had the vertical sleeve and loves it. I met another patient who had hers done when I had my Roux, and she loves it as well.
Please believe me that Dr. Walton is a highly skilled surgeon, and I think his reputation speaks for itself. I don't know Dr. Broussard except when he met me to help escort me from pre-op.
A co-worker of mine is wanting to have a vertical sleve. I saw a story about the vertical sleeve with Dr. Walton back in November on channel 4. My sister told me she heard an ad on the radio last week saying something about surgery at Weightwise only costs $9,000. I logged on to the website and sure enough, there it was at the top of the screen. My friend at work is seriously considering it now.
