When is the next Surg Assoc Support group?  I think it is the second Tuesday of January at 6:30 pm...  Can someone confirm this?  I really need to go! TIA Dot*

I think it's at 6:00 but check their website to be sure.  It's www.surgassoc.com or call Tracy at 481-4999.

Do I have the date right?  Are you going to be there?

I checked their website and they don't have the dates for 2008 yet but it's always the second Tuesday at 6:00 unless it's a holiday.  I'll be there if the weather isn't bad and I'm feeling OK.

I will be there too.  Because, I HOPE I'm running out of PRE-op opportunities to attend! My last pre-op appointment before meeting Dr. Katsis is Jan 3!  WOO HOO!!  Now, I hope my insurance company doesn't throw a kink in things!

Dot, Congrats on the last of the preops (we hope). That's my brithday so I'll send you good thoughts! My insurance company threw a kink, but I went private pay. Where there's a will, there's a way. I can't find a huggy smiley, so I'll send that one instead.

Happy Birthday (early) to you!  My husband's b-day is Jan 6, mine is Jan 23, and I have a sister in law whose is Jan 22 and another sister in law whose is Jan 28!!  Busy month around here!

You've probably already confirmed this by now, but it IS the 2nd Tuesday at every month, at 6:00, at the Natalie Building.  Drive up to the 4th floor in the parking garage.  You can park right outside the doors near the conference room.  Maybe I'll come this month, I could surely use some refresher information!  I'm afraid people will take one look at me and wonder "What is SHE doing here?".  I still belong there, even though I'm 101 pounds lighter! :) Staci

I know what you mean though.  I got a lecture from the nurse at Dr. Worley's office today.  Not really a lecture, but she said "You're here because you're having GASTRIC BYPASS??!!"  "Most of our patients are MUCH heavier than you!" Well, I DO have a BMI of 40.  I've been told I hold my weight well.  If you look at me from the bust up I don't look THAT heavy.  If you look at me from the knees down, I don't look heavy.  I carry all of my weight in the TRUNK!! She needed to take a side view of me!  lol  She also needs to take a look at my lipid panel!  Take a look at my family history of heart disease! I have gained 65 lbs in the past 2 years, most of which was after my hysterectomy and I don't want to have a BMI of 50 or greater before I take control of my life! I hope to see you at the support group, Sembers :o)
