The first few days are the hardest.  Watch out for the headache that comes arounf between days 2-4.  You forgot to list lots and lots of water, otherwise you have listed what I had.  It is hard but remember it is the beginning.

I'm surprised Hoodoo hasn't answered this one.  I know she has some good ideas because I've seen them before.  I just don't remember them!  Hope you find some variety soon!

No one told me about the headache and it is a doozie!!! I'm 5 days out now and didn't take any pain meds today so far. The first few days I was thinking "what have I done????" But it's much better now and I've lost 10 pounds in 5 days!!! I bought some unflavored protein powder to add to my broth. It makes it like creamy chicken soup. It's so yummy!! And I feel so much better with the protein!!! Take your vitamins too! Diana

The reason I needed the unflavored protein powder for my broth is that I have a hard time tolerating the protein drinks after surgery.  So, you might consider that possibility. Good luck! You'll make it...just say one day at a time and you'll be better before you know it! Diana

I still can't stomach the vitamins...they're too darned sweet, and I know that I need them. That protein powder soup thing sounds really good. Protein is the way to heal, they say. Other than other things you can have, it sounds like it's covered. One thing my doc mentioned is nothing red 24 hours before surgery due to some dye they put in to check for leaks. You might ask your doc about that. Yeah, hoodoo can help there.

I had Adkins shakes and they were good. I cannot drink them post op though. All my tastes have changed and I now find them too sweet. I also had no sugar added hot chocolate and sugar free pudding.  Tressa
