OK today is the 1st day of the rest of my life. I have a huge headache. Last night I did all of my Pre-op shopping. WOW that was expensive. So my daughter comes in this morning and says," Mom we are going to McDonalds what do you want?" I told her that I will have a jello. I know that I can do this. Wish me luck. 10 Days til Surgery.

((Hugs))  Some moments will be harder than others - usually brought on by the weirdest little hint of ..."I wish I could have....".  But you CAN do this!!  I promise.  Best of luck - keep your eye on the prize!!

I think the cheating is so much harder to control in the pre-op diet then the post-op.  I realy had to work at it pre-op.  Now post-op I really have to work at remembering to eat.  Yesterday I thought we had just eatin when my husband asked my to make him a steak, it had been 4 hours already since lunch.  I really have to look at the clock and stay on schedule to eat and drink.  Remember the pre-op diet is only 2 weeks.  You can do it.  Congrats on the the start of your journey.

Wow, we are on such different diets from Dr. to Dr. My pre-op was to lose 30 pounds, so I was doing supplements, etc. The only thing I had to do before surgery was liquids for 24 hours before. Post RNY surgery 2 weeks of liquids was easy because I wasn't hungry. I was scared when I switched to the 2 weeks of mushies...and I don't want to see eggs, tuna or fat free refried beans again. I am on healthy foods for life (have been here for a month now).  I still can't hold down hamburger patties. However, ground beef in casseroles that I have reinvented is fine. I think it's because I buy the 97% fat free hamburger meat, but the patties we have are from Schwan's, and I don't think they're fat free. Since my surgery (Oct 18) I have lost 81 pounds. I am 19 pounds away from saying goodbye to the 2's. It was liberating to say goodbye to the 3's..I cried in the doc's office after I got off the scales because I haven't seen this weight since before having baby #2. You can do this. It's for your health and your life. From one being on the other side, everything is worth it.

You can do this. For me this was the hardest part. After surgery you will not want anything. I had to force myself to do what I had to. Best of luck to you it is worth it. Tressa
