10 Day Liquid Diet
OK today is the 1st day of the rest of my life. I have a huge headache.
Last night I did all of my Pre-op shopping. WOW that was expensive. So my daughter comes in this morning and says," Mom we are going to McDonalds what do you want?" I told her that I will have a jello. I know that I can do this. Wish me luck. 10 Days til Surgery.
I think the cheating is so much harder to control in the pre-op diet then the post-op. I realy had to work at it pre-op. Now post-op I really have to work at remembering to eat. Yesterday I thought we had just eatin when my husband asked my to make him a steak, it had been 4 hours already since lunch. I really have to look at the clock and stay on schedule to eat and drink. Remember the pre-op diet is only 2 weeks. You can do it. Congrats on the the start of your journey.
Wow, we are on such different diets from Dr. to Dr. My pre-op was to lose 30 pounds, so I was doing supplements, etc. The only thing I had to do before surgery was liquids for 24 hours before.
Post RNY surgery 2 weeks of liquids was easy because I wasn't hungry. I was scared when I switched to the 2 weeks of mushies...and I don't want to see eggs, tuna or fat free refried beans again.
I am on healthy foods for life (have been here for a month now). I still can't hold down hamburger patties. However, ground beef in casseroles that I have reinvented is fine. I think it's because I buy the 97% fat free hamburger meat, but the patties we have are from Schwan's, and I don't think they're fat free.
Since my surgery (Oct 18) I have lost 81 pounds. I am 19 pounds away from saying goodbye to the 2's. It was liberating to say goodbye to the 3's..I cried in the doc's office after I got off the scales because I haven't seen this weight since before having baby #2.
You can do this. It's for your health and your life. From one being on the other side, everything is worth it.
