Happy New Year!

You know, I was thinking when they were talking about New Year's resolutions and weight loss, that I and everyone on here has already done the work getting there. I used to say that I didn't make resolutions, but deep down inside it was always to lose weight...after I hit bottom and realized that surgery was the only answer, I made peace with it. My family has been extremely supportive, and things are going well. I just hope that 2008 is better to us than 2007 was. I lost my mom in September right before my surgery, and I've survived 2 major holidays since then. *sigh*

I feel your pain.  I know how hard it is to get through the holidays after losing a parent.  I lost my dad in July 1996.  It is hard to believe it has been that many years.  It is still hard at times, but life goes on.  Sorry about your loss.
