I am day ten post op .. I am starving. i mean really starving. I am drinking lots of water and such but that doesnt help.  I know Im starving because im not even craving junk food really or fast food but just anything I start mushies I guess in four days. I am scared I will over do it on mushies and eat too much.  I am scared that I will cheat and have mushies before four days.

Don't pu**** to hard, you will only accomplish getting yourself sick.  Listen closely to your Dr and NUT they have the knowledge and experience.  That being said I did pu**** a little and I did get really sick, off of only three elbo macaroni.  I know I had a RNY and you are Banded, but I should have listened to my NUT.  NO pasta, bread, or rice for me anytime in the future.

Purple-trust me on this one, if you were banded 10 days ago and were at a proper body weight for banding, you are not starving.  Not yet.  But you are probably really hungry.  Are you on full liquids?  If so, ease the hunger pains by drinking a light protien shake (150 calories or less) every 2 hours.  Keeping the blood sugar steady helps ever so much.

I am only 6 days post op with lapband. Yesterday, I got my protein in but I don't like it. I almost froze a lemon beverage meal replacement with a small amount of yogurt in it. I've had sugar free jello with about 2 tablespoon FF-SF cool whip. I also ate a small amount of strained low fat mushroom soup with 1% milk to thin it. Because it is cold outside I drink it  warm in a cup. Today I did the same with Tomato Soup. Just having something like that inbetween can help me gag down the other. LOL I did liquids plus some chicken, fish for 7 day before surgery and for 3 days liquids before also. Now I have to stay on protein meal liquids & supplements, SF jello, non-fruit LF_SF yogurt, LF strained soup, etc. for 2 wks. I have heard my tummy rumble more in the last 16 days than I have ever done in my life.LOL I drink decaf tea and water with a little lemon in it. I really don't like the sugary drinks. my hunger didnt start until i was really healing about 4 weeks out , i sont have any magic answers , i did follow Dr. G's instrustions to the letter , but i wont say it was easy , just hang in there and dont over do it ,,,, talking to someone about how you feel is the best way

I'm sure you are hungry...it's very normal...but, you've come this far...and it will pass.  You do have to get your protein in.  That and water is your #1 on not being hungry.  So when do you see the doc again?  Did he already give you a day on starting your mushies with the holidays being here?  I'm assuming it will be hard to get in to get the okay to move on because of the holidays.  Just be really cautious and take it slow and easy.  A little goes a long way. im just following the pamphlet they have you print off and that they gave me at the nut meeting says liquids for 14 days then mushies

Some docs want to see you again before you move on to the next phase.  I don't know who your doc is, but you might want to check that out if you don't already know the answer.
