I called Dr. Gornichecs and they sent me the emmi stuff, and other emails. BUT now I am leaning toward Dr. Walton or DR. Broussard.  I am just so confused about who to use, I am so afraid of making a wrong choice. I am trying to research a little more. I want to be sure  about witch Dr. will be better suited  to me . And experience in revisions is important to me. And rate of complications in previous patients. I  am ready to start my journey and my new life with my husband , kids and grandkids. I`ve missed out too long.  Hope to make a decision by next week .I`ve thinking about this and researching for the last year , then blood pressure problems have made me want to get the process started.Wish me luck and say a little prayer for me. Merry Christmas All

Hi! I would suggest you do a pro and con list it helped me alot. I made the best decision for me and that was Dr. Ronnie Keith in Norman. I thnak God that I did chose him. He is a wonderful doctor and surgeon and for me a God send. His staff answers all questions and you are treated like a someone not just another patient number. IF you are unsure of who to use, see you is the best qualified for the procedure you are having and then do the pro and con list. Take my advice you want an experienced surgeon with barartic surgery messing with your insides. Good Luck! Merry Christmas! Pattye

I never thought about anyone else but Dr. Keith because he did my daughter-in-laws band and my friends RNY. The staff at his office is wonderful and also Norman Regional Hosp. I worked a year with my insurance and had my lapband on Dec. 18, 2007. Newbie. I wasn't hungry until today. I drank my morning protein, about 1/4 cup yogurt with extra Beneprotein in it, some broth, and hot decaf peach tea. The husband wants to go last minute shopping tonight so will drink my protein before I go. Normally we would eat out and I would be miserably FULL. Everone thinks the protein is expensive but not as much as eating out all the time.LOL I made stew and cornbread for him. That is the broth I drink but no solids. I had a little gas afterwards but stretched and got rid of it. Merry Christmas to All

I would definitely do a pro and con list.  Just because one of us suggests one doesn't mean that it is the best suit for you.  I say do some praying about it and go with your gut feeling.  This is your body and you only have one of them.  Just remember - it's up to you - not what the rest of us say! I pray that this will be a very easy decision for you. Tonja

I had a stomach stapeling in 1982, and did well , but over the last several years gained all my weight back ,plus some, I had my surgery in Hot springs Arkansas. Thats part of the problem, I dont know any Doctors here, so the decision has been tough. I just want to make the right decision. Theres a lot more choices then when I did It in 82. The surgerys have came a long way. I am difantly going to do a revision . Will be posting a pic nex t week if i can figure out how to do it . Lol

I agree with everyone that it is a personal decision. All we can say is how we feel about our doctors and our experience. I haven't had my experience yet really.  My surgery date is next Thursday but so far along in the process I have been treated with great care by Dr. Broussard and his staff.  He has a wonderful bedside manner and has been doing WLS for a very long time. He's not hard on the eyes either. In fact, he has very nice eyes!  What is the matter with all of us????  he he he

I think it is great that everyone loves their doctors. It's nice not to see any negative comments.  That should put our minds at ease!!

Good luck to you!

I will definately say a little prayer for you!

granideb: dr walton did my rny approximately 18 months a go.  dr broussard has been with him on my case as well.  i have had the best success specifically due to these two wonderful men and the program that they have built around them.  both doctors have done revisions and dr broussard just recently started the program's efforts into the gastric sleeve.  i believe both are actually doing them now as well. you are smart to do a lot of research.  if you would like to attend a support group at weight wise, the schedule is listed on the website www.weightwise.com under events.  you will find an amazing array of patients in all steps toward and post operatively.  there is usually a speaker the first part of the group and then the floor opens to a roundtable discussion.  we invite anyone who is interested, no matter what surgeon too!   if you would like to ask any specific questions about either doc, you are welcome to email me directly as well.  i credit the two of them with saving my life literally!  and yes, dr broussard is pretty easy to look at!!  (hehe) good luck on making your decision, just as an fyi - dr keith is a pretty awesome doc as well.  i would have no problem recommending him to others as well, but my main knowledge is with the docs at weightwise.  just remember to look at the entire program - it should be multidisciplinary and should offer support before, during and after from all sides of the program.   Ruth before surgery 336/current 190/goal 175

I narrowed it down to three choices and then gave it up to God.  I called all three and the first one that returned my call got the job.  Interestingly enough, it was the "wildcard" that called, but I went with my orignal plan and I'm fine.

Deb, I would go to the info meetings of both surgeons and then decide who you feel more comfortable with.  You know as well as I do that it is important to feel good about who does your surgery.  Good luck with your decision and let us know how things are going. Merry Christmas, Michelle
