Last Day Of Liquid Diet-Surgery Tomorrow

Hello Everyone, This is my last day on liquid before lap band surgery tomorrow at NRH. Any help would be appreciated. I don't like that the meals and supplements are so sweet. I tried the chicken & tomato soup I can drink  the chicken. I was really cold yesterday but drank hot decaf tea and that helped. I have been drinking chamomile before bedtime. How did everyone make it on the sweet drinks for 2 weeks after surgery. I do drink my water and decaf tea all day. Trying to catch up on everything at the house. The husband is very good but his Mom is in the hospital right now. He retired on Sept. 1. He said he didn't know how he did all he did before he retired. He worked 12 hr. shifts that changed from days to nights. I am semi-retired substitute teacher. I took off Dec. to concentrate on my surgery and diet. I'm enjoying seeing all the post although I don't write in all the time. Ramona M

I am happy for you. I would be so excited if my surgery was tomorrow! You will be fine, just remember you will be losing your weight forever! It will help you take down any drinks that you may have to drink.

Thanks, For the encouragement. I need it. I'm excited and frightened all at once. At least the weather is good and sunny. When we were up at Norman Fri. it was so cold and windy. I live about 70 miles south of Norman, but I have a sister that lives just south of there and they were only without electricity for 1 day. I have been drinking my protein drinks hot. I got chocolate so its like hot chocolate. I also eat strained cream soups.. and also various flavors of ramen noodle broth. I am thinking about trying a protein drink/yogurt blending in the blender.

What kind of protien drinks are you trying? Before surgery I did the Atkins shakes but after surgery they were way too sweet. Now I do the whey protien it is not as sweet but I think you have to try flavors and brands until you find the one you like. Good luck on your surgery... Tressa

Unflavored soy powder or Jay Robb Egg White protien powder will mix into broths to make a savory (not sweet) drink.  Add a little chili pepper to that if you need akick.

It's not going to taste like a steak, but it does give you break from sweet sweet sweet.
