We didn't lose power for any length of time to speak of.  We have lived here for 6 years and never have lost power for very long at a time.  We live fairly close to three nursing homes, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not... but, I'm glad we don't lose power!! My husband's grandparents (ages 87 & 84) lost power for about 2 days.  Luckily, they have a generator and at least had heat.  Josh's dad and Josh checked up on them frequently.  His dad didn't go to work the past couple of days. The kids have been out of school and I haven't been feeling well.  So, I've been in bed a lot and they go back to school tomorrow. I haven't been on the computer much because I was a retard the other night and got a virus on my computer!  It took me awhile to get rid of it because when I was trying to work on it, the power kept flickering and messing me up, so I gave up on it until this evening! That's my update!

Glad to hear everyone is safe.  Sorry to hear about the troubles some of you have had.  You will be kept in my prayers.  I did help to break the garage door at my sister's house.  Oooops.  The cable looks like it is off track.  I am soooo tired of the rain, but not really looking forward to the possible snow this weekend.  I see Dr. Katsis tomorrow afternoon to see if I can go bake to work.  I am actually ready to go back.  I need the rest!  I'll update tomorrow afternoon. We lost power monday morning early. We are staying with my Grandparents who thank God have power. PSO is saying that it may be the 18th before we see light. After a week and a half last year I was not ready to repeat it this year. Everyone stay safe. Tressa

WOW, that's a long time, Tressa!  Do you live in a rural area?

Been one of the lucky ones never lost power just patience with OGE for the folks that have lost power. You would think that they would be better equipted for a storm that they knew was coming...

Problem was, the storm hit such a widespread area there just aren't enough people to cover.  The normal plan is to bring people from out of state, but many of those states were hit as well.  This wasn't truly any worse than what hit Eastern Oklahoma earlier this year, but hitting two major metro areas just did us all in.  So now we have to wait.

No power here since Monday night.  Mine is an isolated break so I am down on the list.  I am staying with my parents, found a kennel that could take the dogs today.  Snakes didn't make it.  Trying to grieve quietly and not cause any fuss-my parents are not monsters, just very old and any change is upsetting to them.  Since the dogs are kenneled now, I can hide out in the spare room and not be a disruption.

All the tension has made my band really tight-so I want to remind you all to drink even if you don't feel like eating.  If you get dehydrated, you are looking at an unfill and a few weeks of no restriction-so please stay hydrated.  And as long as you are hydrating, suck down some soy milk or something for protien too-might as well stay nourished at the same time.

Also, be aware, if you are newly banded (I'm fairly new too) you are going to get a double roller coaster of emotions because you can no longer eat about it.  My mind was boggled at the junk foods being stocked up on by shoppers in my neighborhood.  And I decided right then I wasn't going to emerge on the other side of this storm with any extra pounds.
