They are re-airing the wls show on Oprah.  Yes, I know that we all tend to replace one addiction (food) with another (hopefully something better).  But this show makes me mad!!!!  It made me mad the first time I saw it. Why do I watch this woman?  So that I have the right to gripe? Come on Oprah - quit being jealous of us who are getting it right! Tonja

I didn't see it the first time, but I just turned it on.  I take what she says with a grain of salt, usually it is a one sided conversation with her.  She rarely covers both sides of an issue.  I call it the O-factor.  You must think the way she thinks so that you can come to the special things show.

I have to disagree-I think they are doing a balanced job of explaining what is happening.  It's another way of saying what I always say "YOU gotta deal with the head issues".

Honestly just because the non surgical way didn't work for you doesn't mean it fails for everyone. Surgery isn't the better way. Neither way is. The outcome is what is important. Being healthier. My friend went from 275 to 130 in a year and half. She has kept that weight off for 5 years now. She did it with healthy eating and exercising. No pills, no surgery, nothing but hard work and will power. Is she better than any of us having/had surgery? Absolutely not. But I will not for one minute minimize her accomplishments by saying she needs to accept reality that sugery is the only way to go. Nor will I accuse her of being jealous when she expresses pride in her weight loss. Saying those kinds of things by people who want to lose weight themselves without surgery sounds much like them saying we are taking the easy way out by having it. Not everyone needs surgery nor should everyone have it. Everyone should create a process they can handle to become healthy. They should be able to do that without judgment from either side.

Well, here was my thing the first time the aired it... Don't pick on just WLS folks.  Anyone who has an addiction (food, alcohol, drugs, etc.) usually always replaces it with another addiction.  I felt like it was unfair to just do a show on WLS. I think if she is going to cover cross addiction...they should cover any type. Tonja

I don****ch the woman but then i dont kow a lot of men who do so maybe hearing from a guy on this might help, lol.  I bought the Dr.Phil books, I did the diet.  It did not work for me.  No regular diet has.  I look at these fancy diets and just shake my head.  I grew up on a farm people!!!  I dont eat spanich salad and blackened salmon.  Never have never will.  Anyways.... I think getting over any addiction is all in how you change your mental outlook on that addiction.  I know that once I have the surgery I am not going to be able to eat like I do now, and a major part of me says THANK GOD.  I know i am going to have to exercise for maximum loss, again LETS GO.  I miss that 200 lb guy who did anything and everything.  I want that guy back.  I tried the "old fashin way" .  It didnt work for me, it didnt work for a lot of you either.  But I know this, I will be healthy again, and like the song says, I will be able to stand up and sing "I did it MY way!!"

Oprah thinks she is all that just beause she did not need WLS to get all her weight off. Not everyone can do it the Natual way. i don'****ch Oprah because I think she is unfair.....But thats my opinion.
