Sleep Study Part II
Well, I have my sleep study tonight with the CPAP. I'm NOT looking forward to it, but looking forward to getting it OVER WITH!
I'm a little mad right now too. The sleep center called earlier today to make sure I remembered I had my sleep study tonight... I said, yes, I remember...
Then, I got a call just before 4:00 from the Sleep Center. The guy asked me if I had my Lunesta. I said NO, no one told me I needed Lunesta!!!!! Why didn't the girl earlier today mention anything about Lunesta?
He went on to say that the doctor *****ad the original study wanted me to have 2-3 mg of lunesta for tonight's study!
So, I was in a time crunch to try to get my hands on some Lunesta! I don't know what days my doctor works, what days she leaves early, etc... So, I didn't know if I would be able to get any at such short notice or not!
I jumped in the car and went to my PCP who LUCKILY isn't too far away and it took me about 15 minutes to get some Lunesta.
I guess the doctor forgot to send in the RX. They gave me a sample. I'm not as mad at my doctor for forgetting as I am at the sleep center for not telling me EARLIER that I would need it for my second study! I guess the nurse (from my PCP) also could have mentioned it when she originally told me that I would need a second study...
I'm just glad that I was able to get it and didn't have to postpone my sleep study!
Thanks for listening to my rant!
Sleep well!

It went OK... I can't really say that I slept a whole lot better with the lunesta.
I started out with a small mask that was just over my nose and she had a chin strap holding my mouth closed... Well, I guess I managed to open my mouth and start breathing that way, so she switched masks on me and I ended up with a triangluar one that fit over my nose and mouth.
The air flow started out really light and I could tell a couple different times when I woke up that it had increased, but she couldn't tell me what the setting was. I guess I have to wait a few days for that.
I have an appt with my PCP today, but I think I'm going to postpone it until next week so I will have the sleep study results from last night also.
I'm still Way tired. I dont know if it is still the Lunesta working on me or if it is because my sleep was interrupted so much. I think she woke me up around 4 am because after getting unhooked, changing clothes, filling out a questionaire, and driving home, I was home by 4:30!!!!!
Bless your heart! Just go to bed!

Yeah, it is hard enough going to sleep in a strange bed in a strange place, let alone you are wired up beyond belief, you KNOW people are watching you, and you KNOW they are counting the minutes until you are asleep!!
More about last night...
From the moment I rang the door bell and heard a woman's voice I was happy. I was glad it wasn't that same nuts-o guy I had last time. Turns out the lady who let me in wasn't my tech though ;o/
Although my tech was a woman, I got off on the wrong foot with her. She was probably in her upper 50's (she mentioned having a daughter my age) and one of the first things she said to me was: Are you wearing perfume? I said "NO" (hee hee, it was bath and body "splash" spray that I put on after my shower) she said "Well, don't be surprised if my voice goes out. I smell something and I'm allergic to all fragrances!"
I'm thinking, how rude... I'm sorry she is allergic to smells and I'm sorry she could smell me, but she didn't have to be rude about it. It was just her tone of voice and the way she said it that bothered me. Maybe because I'm not the type to mention it even if I think people have cologne on too heavy or it is cologne that STINKS, or it is gagging me... I just deal with it, especially in a professional situation where I'm dealing with the public (I used to be an ophthalmic technician)
She never mentioned it again... She also never lost her voice!!
She was just as weird as the first guy only in a different sort of way. Maybe they have to be weird for that job? Is that a prerequisite?
She also irked me when she woke me up. There are two different light switches. One is the main overhead light that is bright and the other one is a "can light" that is concentrated on the table near the bed, so it gives a softer light... When she woke me up at 4 a.m. she Blasted on the BRIGHT light, said "GET UP" she let me go potty then came back in and took me to the room where they unhook.
I HATED that light.... I thought I remembered filling out a questionaire last time about the technician, but I didn't get that one this time. I wonder why? I sure would like to let them know about that BLASTED BRIGHT LIGHT. No one likes to be awakened with bright light!!
That's all I can think of at the moment... I'm just glad it is over with! Over all, I don't think she was as courteous as the guy.
