1st Dr Visit tomorrow...

I have no idea what to expect. They asked me to fill out their paperwork. That is done. I just have no clue what the doctor is going to ask me. Am I going to have to get naked. Maybe panties only. I am sure I will get weighed.  Any help is appreciated

I am very nervous.... Hopefully my paperwork will go in tomorrow and I will have my approval in a week or so..

Fyi my bmi is now up to 41.6.

*LOL*  It won't be anything like that.  The worst Dr W had me do was raise my shirt and undo my pants so he could see my whole belly and that was only when we were discussing the future PANNI surgery (super tummy tuck to remove all the extra).  I've already got a bit of loose skin from multiple pregnancies. I'm not glad your BMI is up, but that does mean you qualify for the surgery. I waited for a couple hours to see him, then was called back and had all the usual stuff done...blood pressure, weight.  Some questions were asked about medications, but really they took the full medical history through the mail.  Anyhow, Dr W came in and introduced himself and just talked.  He went through all the details of what the RNY is and what he expects from his patients, even drawing a diagram on the bed paper at one point.  I never had to get up on the bed.  Then he took me out to Judy and she gave me the pre-op instructions.  Make sure you schedule your NUT class before your liquid diet begins.  It's better for you in the long run. So when they took your medical history is it from the papers that you fill out or from you PCM? How long after you 1st visit until your paperwork went in for approval?  p.s. BMI is probably up from nervous eating....

No.  When you called (or they called you to make your appt), they didn't tell you to visit their website????  http://bariatricsoftexas.com/ There's papers to print out and complete here: http://bariatricsoftexas.com/start.htm #1 is "before your intitial consultation"  The second box is complete health questionairre.  There's a link to download and print.  It was supposed to be mailed in, but I'm sure you can print and hand carry it.  Maybe they don't need it from you for some reason, but I'd do it just in case.   Debbie said it would take up to 2 weeks but it only took about a week for approval.  It was really quick!

OK I filled out that paperwork. Safe there. They asked me that yesterday when they called to confirm the appt. Ok so now all I have to do is drive there and talk to Dr. Warnock.... I am still nervous.   Is your nut class here in Lawton or there in Wichita Falls??? Hopefully we are only a month between our surgeries.  Both being Army wives I am sure that we have alot in common. We have to meet up sometime.  Again thanks for all of you info..

I also went to WF my process was really fast and I am now sitting in bed in the healing state.  My first visit with Dr W was on Nov 6; Pre-op Nov 20, also started liquids this day, Surgery Nov 28.  Since I had my surgery just after thanksgiving I had my Nut class Dec 3 at the Rathgeber Guest House.  It was a long week in WF, but I am finally home with my family.  Good luck on your journey and don't be suprised if it goes really really fast.

Everything except the support group is in Witchita Falls.  I do everything tomorrow.  I have 3 or 4 different appointments tomorrow.  It'll be a busy day.
