Sleep Apnea testing after surgery
You should continue to use your CPAP until retested after losing weight. The WLS itself does not cure your sleep apnea. Only the loss of weight will do this in most cases. I actually went thru a ENT surgery to help correct my sleep apnea and was retested 6 mos later and NOPE, not fixed. Still have severe sleep apnea. So now I will need to drop some pounds and get another one done next year.
My tonsillectomy and fixing my deviated septum did the trick for my sleep apnea.
I'm one of the lucky ones!

My sleep dr told me to wait at least a year , or so when i have lost most of my weight , and kept it off , then to retest and see what happens. he said losing weight is not a guarantee i will not have sleep apnea,, that is just my experience.
