Psych in Tulsa Area

Can those of you who had your psych eval in the Tulsa area PM me with the name of who did yours.  The one I called can't get me in until Jan 31 and I'm hoping I can find one who can do it sooner. Thanks Dot

I used Dr. Rebecca Nicholas and her number is 918- 230-3742.  She seemed to have a pretty flexible schedule and it didn't take me very long to get my appointment.

Whoever you pick, make sure you check with your surgeon/insurance to make sure they are acceptable for your psychological.  I've heard of people having it done to find out that they had to redo it with someone that the surgeon/insurance accepted. T

I called Tracy the bariatric coordinator for Surgical Associates and she just returned my call.  She gave me the name and number of another one to call and I left a message there... She said I can use anyone though as long as they are a psychologist or psychiatrist (not nurse practicioner) My insurance won't cover it no matter who I see, so that isn't an issue.

I just wish I would have made this appointment a month ago!  UGH

I also used Dr Rebecca Nichols and she was very nice, I feel she is someone I could go back to and see if the need arises.

I saw Lindsay Patterson at Laureate.  My insurance didn't pay for the psych eval last year and I had to pay $300.  This year it's covered---just my luck!

I also seen Dr. Rebecca Nichols in Tulsa.  She was great to talk to.    

Lindsay Patterson is who my first appointment was with.  My PCP made the appointment for me the 7th of November and they couldn't get me in until January 31.  I would rather try to find someone who can get me in sooner. Tracy suggested I call Dr. Melissa Cashman and she has me down for December 13.  They took my insurance info and I'm to call back on Wednesday to see if any of it will be covered.  That's more than I could say for LIndsay Patterson.  They didn't even offer to check for me or file it. If my insurance doesn't pay any of it, I'll be out $400.  But, it is worth the extra $100 for 1 1/2 months sooner appointment.  Tis the Season! Dr. Cashman also has had WLS, so I think that is a good point also.
