I sliced my finger up pretty good tonight :o(  I cut it while cleaning a Pampered Chef Mandoline!  Dang, those things are SHARP! It hurts to type.  I already have an appointment to go to my PCP on Wednesday, so I hope I don't get infection or anything before then.  I'm WAY late on my tetnus.  I haven't had one since 1991!!! I have antibiotic ointment on it and a bandage.  It is my ring finger on my right hand and I"m right handed :o( Enough L's and periods!!  My finger hurts! ttyl to ya all tomorrow (left handed pecking typing, probably!)

I remember several years ago when I had my hysterectomy I had oozing poison ivy on my right arm.  I kept that thing so tightly bandaged with waterproof bandages so I wouldn't get staph.  After I got out of the hospital, it healed up nicely. But, if you do want to really get it cleaned up - there is some stuff called Domboro that you can go and get from the pharmacy.  You have to actually go to the pharmacy counter to ask for it.  You just do a soak and it pulls out all the infection.  It's been around for years and is similar to the epson salt soak. I need to look into the stuff you're talking about, Tonja...  My finger is feeling better today, but I haven't taken the bandage off to clean and re-dress yet today.  Just got the kids off to school, so now's the time. I thought I'd theck in here first (just putting it off) I'm not looking forward to this...  ugh...  I almost passed out and felt like puking when it happened.  I hope I can stomach it today since dh isn't here to take care of me!

Domboro is great for any type of cut or ingrown toenail or hangnail or anything like that that could get infected or is infected.  If you have the read streaks (blood poisoning) you can soak and actually watch the streaks disappear - it pulls the infection out.  It's really awesome and it's "old" medicine. I know it's been around for well over 30 years. I suggest the powder instead of the tablets - you don't have wait for the tablets to dissolve. T

Thanks for the info....  So, if I ask the pharmacist at Walgreens he should have it? My finger looks pretty good today.  I cleaned it up and put medicine and bandage on it...
