Hello all.    I had my RouNY in Mid July07. So far I have lost 33 lbs.. But  I don't have any people support, no one to share with.   Even the docs here don't know very much about Wls patients and their needs. I am alittle sad that I can't be around others such as my self. I am in Stillwater , Oklahoma.Anyone close to me?  I need defined instruction on what I am to be eating right now. I need accountability, direction. Talk to you soon. Kristin

Welcome Kristin.  I live in SOKC but will be in the Edmond area a lot over the next week or so.  I think it is very important to be around other WLS folk-learning both what to do and that it's really OK to do it, cause heaven knows people are going to comment on what you eat and how much you eat and yadda yadda yadda. This board is a great source of support for me because the people here know what it's like and no one is out to push one surgery or another-we are just here for each other. (uhhh, if you have a horse I make house calls....)

Turtle...we're here for you!  We have a group that is meeting this Saturday, December 1st at 10am at Integris Baptist.  It's both RNY and lap band and anyone else that wants to come and share in any type of weight loss type that has worked for them.  It doesn't matter who your surgeon is/was - we're here for you.  AND, if you would like, we could meet up after the support group for lunch in Edmond. What do  ya think? Tonja

I will leave at 8 or so. I am familiar with Edmond but not OKC. Even though I was born there. Could I possibly have your cell if I get turned around? Your warm welcome helps me feel so much better. Here from you soon.   My cell is338-8829, low on minutes please text. Kristin

My surgeon's support group meets the 2nd Monday of every month.  It is located at Bailey Medical Center in Owasso.  Not sure if this is closer to you or the one in OKC.  Everyone is welcome.

Weightwise of Oklahoma is based in Edmond, we have support group meetings each month as well.  Attendance is not limited to just the practice.  We support all WLS persons as well.  You can find out information by going to www.weightwise.com and clicking the events button.  There are several different meetings - lapband, rny, etc.  The December meeting is a combination party type meeting on Dec 6.  I have attended both groups even though I am RNY - sometimes it is just not good timing for me!  But they are usually the same speaker each month, the only thing that would be different is if diet is discussed.   Support is support.  Get it where you can!  I know a couple of people of who come down from Enid and Stillwater to attend.   You can also reach me via here if you have questions about RNY.  I am 18 months and 150 lbs out!  There are a bunch of us here so don't be shy! Welcome to our little corner!
