Loving the liquid diet!
Now that I have your attention... *LOL*
Actually, it's not so bad. Today is day 1 without dinner though. We'll see how that goes. I'm relatively used to drinking my breakfast. I can say that the protien powder (Nectar) has me feeling much better than I did when I was on slimfast. Slimfast always made me feel shakey after an hour or so. The Nectar has me feeling pretty good. I'm just now starting to feel tired and it's 1 hour from my next shake. I did Chocolate Truffle this morning. I'm going to do Strawberry Kiwi for lunch. I'm going to eat a control bar around 1:30-2pm. That's my major "tired" time of day. I've already got it planned though to sew through that time of day today. That way I don't curl up and fall asleep and fade the rest of the day away.
I'm determined. I don't think I've ever been this determined. I'm looking at this as my opportunity to prove to my husband that I'm committed to this. I'm looking at this as my opportunity to prove to my surgeon he isn't wasting his time and expertise on someone who isn't interested in sticking with the program.
My only complaint thus far is that I feel a little like the liquid doesn't really want to stay down. Almost like I've drank TOO much and really shouldn't bend over or it could come up. I haven't drank anything in 2 hours though. I've had 8oz water and 1 scoop of Nectar. Then I had 10oz Crystal Light.
Anyone else have that problem?

I'm still doing ok, but I've got a bird in the oven that smells heavenly. That's going to be rough. I'm not going to be even so much as cutting it though. I told DH lastnight that this was going to be hard on me. He asked if I wanted HIM to cook. I told him "no" but that I'd need him to eat whatever dinner I put in front of him...even if it's ramen noodles...without complaint.
I'm definitely having this "head hunger" thing right now. I don't even really feel hungry because of all the liquids I've had today, but it smells SOOOOOOOOO good.
Just kidding. I'll be fine. I'm a big strong stubborn woman. I can DO this!

I can't believe your cooking. I tried and it didn't work, my husband had to take over. I like to taste what I make and the seasoning I always need to check that. After day 2 he has done all of the cooking even when I have offered to do it, he insisted that he take care of it. What a sweetie, don't know what I would do without him.
Well, my husband's idea of cooking is adding browned ground meat to Franco-American can spaghetti. My kids would never survive his cooking. *LOL* They're already tiny little skinny things. They'd waste away!
Cooking a turkey is easy. No tasting involved. :) BUT other things it will be more difficult. I was going to put together some casseroles for the freezer for while I'm in WF, but that'll be too hard for me to not taste. I'm going to be buying some frozen convience foods for him to do while I'm gone. While I'm home, I'll be cooking foods for the family that don't require tending so it'll be less tempting. Hence the turkey. It's huge so I'll be able to have him debone it tonight. The leftover meat will then be broken up into single meal size pouches and vacuume sealed (to prevent snacking). I'll be making soups and 1 dish meals with it through the week. Just dump and warm meals. During dinner time I'll be tending laundry upstairs or taking a hot bath or whatever I can do and NOT be in the dinning room. *L*

Well, today is day 2 of 10 and I'm still holding strong. As predicted the hardest time for me was between 2pm and 8pm. After that I was fine again.
I had to force that last protien shake down. It tasted sooooo nasty. It's funny how the first shake yesterday was almost delicious. The second, not so great, but still passable. The third was like...well it was just horrible. I know it was just me though because my son took a sip and loved it. He said he'd fini**** if I wasn't.
This morning I woke to the smell of my husband frying bacon. How kind. *LMAO* He's a man. Sometimes he doesn't think. I love him anyway.
Anyhow, it was only minorly tempting. I flipped on my candle warmers and the smell soon faded.
I am NOT looking forward to the lunch time shake. I am not looking forward to cooking dinner tonight either. I'm feeding the kids leftover turkey for lunch so I'll be making tuna tetrazini for dinner. I WISH my husband could cook. *LOL*

Ok....it's day 3 and I'm still hanging in there.
How bad is it that I'm so turned off from these shakes already that I'd just rather NOT drink anything??? I'm forcing it though. I'm choking them down.
I've been making them in my blender with 1 scoop of Nectar, 8oz water, and 3 ice cubes. Normally I'm sure they'd be good. I think I just want some meat. *LOL* I could take out an entire Chinese Buffet right now!
I mention the Chinese Buffet because it's heavily on my mind. I just got notice that we're having our BN FRG steering meeting on Dec 4th at a Chinese restaurant and dinner is being paid for by the army. I was just like, uh uh, that's a no go. That's 2 days before my surgery. There's NO WAY I'm going into a restaurant.
I think not eating may be getting a little easier. I know that sounds crazy, but it seems so. Maybe my husband is helping more or I have so much support here and that's what's making it easier. I'm not sure.
Lastnight Laurell called to distract me during my family's dinner time. It was greatly appreciated! She's having her surgery today. I'm going to call her to check on her tomorrow to give her time to get settled some first.
Anyhow, DH is home today and is making lunch for the kids now. A blessing. I still have to make dinner tonight though because he's going to be gone just during the dinner hours.
Tonight will be leftovers for the family though. No cooking.
Ok, so the major side effects of this liquid diet are:
I've lost 11lbs in 3 days.
I'm incredibly gassy (probably from the benefiber they have me adding to the shakes for fullness), but it's not stinky (small blessings). It is a little painful though.
I've been drinking my 3 shakes a day, but forget to drink anything else. I know that's bad, but I'm working on it.
I'm irritable. Very irritable. I snap. I cry.
So far that's it.
