Without saying who I am scheduled to see next week, I would love to hear from anyone who has had a good experience with a surgeon near tulsa who has experience with the LapBand. Thanks!

lol, yes, i forgot it is displayed on my avatar...lol   I saw a nutritionist at St Francis that seemed to want me to check out my other options as far as surgeons go.  She of course could not tell me why. It's just an intake appt.

Well, could it be that maybe because he moved his practice to Owasso that it might be more convenient to get your fills in Tulsa?

I have my RNY surgery w/Dr Gorospe on Monday and feel very confident using Dr G and Dr Kirk.  (Dr Kirk would be one doing your fills after the surg for lapband)

While I do think Surg assoc is a good place, I am worried about their experience with the LapBand.  I was told Dr. Katsis hasn't done a TON of lapband and I think Dr G has done at leat 350.  I think Dr G's staff leaves a little to be desired, but honestly I don't care if they are rude as long as the surgeon has good statistics and follow up care.  Does that sound stupid? Renee, Tho I can't really speak for the lapband----I definetely can speak for how great Dr. Gorospe and Dr. Kirk are.    There's isn't another surgeon I would have used.      They both put me so much at ease and were very caring.     I'm sorry you've not had a good experience with his staff.     I haven't been to his new office, I wonder if he has some new employees ?   I'm scheduled for my 1 year appointment in mid-Dec.   I was supposed to go on the 15th of this month, but had to reschedule.    This will be the first time I'm seeing his new office...course I'll be seeing Dr. Pond. I know when they moved, they did loose a couple of folks, so some new staff was hired. Dr G's nurse was very nice and Lisa the scheduler was also.  I haven't had much contact with anyone else.  There was a general lack of communication the week of their move which was a little frustrating.

I had the same feeling with the staff. But I want experience. The staff isn't the one using the knife. Just my opinion.
