How many of ya'll are doing thanksgiving at your house?  I'm hosting the family Thanksgiving dinner this year. We'll have anywhere from 3 to 10 people in addition to Kyle and I and the kids. No one EVER seems to know what they're doing or where they'll be. I'll just prepare enough for a dozen folks and if they don't show up, we'll be sending mass leftovers home with those that attend. I bought an 18 lb turkey and we'll have mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade yeast rolls, asparagus, stuffing, sweet potatoes, a green salad, fruit salad, pumpkin pie and lemon merengue pie. Geesh...the thought of all of that makes me queasy. We'll all gather together, take turns talking about what we're most thankful for, then we'll have dinner. Do any of you have any special Thanksgiving traditions? Tell me what ya have planned..

I'm hosting my immediate family at a restaurant.  Later we'll all gather at Mom's with the extended family grandkids and great grandkids for a nice visit.  My parents are getting older and my Uncle has Parkinson's related demensia, so quieter is better for meal times.

I temporarily lost my mind and volunteered to have dinner at my house.  There will be 11 or 12 including me.  My sister is cooking the turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry salad, a veggie tray and pumpkin pies.  I'm doing the mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, wild rice, rolls and pecan pie.  Just call me the Queen of Carbs!  Not sure exactly what my aunt and sister-in-law are bringing.  Also, my DH wants to smoke a ham (his first attempt).  I'm sending all the leftovers home with my sister.

We take turns with the holidays every year.  I have a fairly decent sized immediate family : Mom & Stepdad, myself and 2 bio sibs, stepbrother and his family of 3, stepsister and her family of 6.  I did Christmas last year, so I'm out of the rotation!!  This year Thanksgiving will be at my Step brothers house.  It will be all of the aforementioned, including Mandys family.  That should consist of AT least 10 more.  Nice little gathering I hope.  I know for a fact there will be 7 kids under the age of 7.  I remember when I was one of those kids!  My how time flies.  Happy Holidays to everyone!  I hope its great no matter what you do!
