My Update and General Thoughts

Sorry I haven't been on here. Life has gotten crazyier for me lately. I'm working nights and have school during the day. The only sleep I get (other then short naps) is on my two days off each week. UGH, I got home from work this morning at 5:30am, slept until 1:00pm got up and ate, went back to bed and got up at 6:00pm. Wow - did I need it. Now I'm baking treats for our church's bake sale tomorrow.  WLS related stuff - I'm doing pretty good. I've lost about four pounds since starting work. I don't know how to eat, what to eat and when to eat now that I'm up all night and almost all day! I have no clue how many calories I should be consuming. I do know that I burn a lot more calories as my job is on my feet and fast paced.  Thanksgiving Rant - UGH, we're all alone for the holiday. We can't go home to family and none of them will come down here. I have asked the fam what they want to eat and do.... no answers. I'm thinking of making home made pizza with a billion toppings and getting a couple of new games and just having a "play day".  I am trying REALLY hard not to get depressed. It is just another day of the week really. I just miss my friends in Michigan sooo  much right now. General Rant - I was STUPID!!! I should have started my new job about two weeks earlier. I am bound and determined to go back to Michigan on the 29th of this month. It's not in our budget, so I took a job to pay for it. Unfortunately, I only get paid every other week. So, I'll get paid on the 23rd.... and can't buy my plane ticket until then. Yesterday, It was $388 for my trip.... Today I look and it's up to $445!!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! Darn it all, I should have planned it better! But one way or another I'm going!!!  I haven't been on here to help encourage ya'll lately, I'm sorry. I'll try to get on more often!!  HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've spent many a holiday in exile and or on the road.  You may find this is a great way to pull closer to your immediate family and cherish the quiet time with them.  Maybe the Pizza and Playday can be a new tradition, and one that is just yours. Check on aa.com and sign up for their weekly deals-comes out on the Tuesday of every week-you'll get the best price for DFW if you can do the drive.   Congratulations on the pounds lost-hang in there and find some time to sleep!

I will be with my mom and brother and since i cant eat anything except mashed potatoes , we are going out to eat and maybe to the movies or something , they are fine with the holiday not be all about the food , and i am thankful to have such a supportive family backing me up and helping me

Whatever you do, take care of yourself!!  It sounds almost like you are burning your candle at both ends!! That is crazy what the ticket prices are...  who will be going?  Just you or the whole family?  I know what you mean about not being with extended family on Thanksgiving...  I'm a little down this year too.  My older sister lives too far away (bout 4 or 5 hours away), my brother will be alone about 2 hours away from me.  He is recently divorced and his ex-wife will have the kids out of state.  My  mom will be at my younger sisters house for the first time in the 10 years they've been married..... I will spend Thanksgiving day here with just the 4 of us and then the evening we are going to his grandparents.  It will just be his grandparents, mom & step-dad and the 4 of us.  They decided not to do "traditional" this year.  They are cooking burgers on the grill!!!!! They have always had different traditions than the way I grew up, and now they are really messing things up!  lol  Don't tell them I said that! So, I think I'm going to make my first turkey dinner by myself this year.  But, Josh wants to do it Friday instead of Thursday.  Yeah, I've been married 15 years and have never made a Thanksgiving dinner!  I guess it is about time....  I hope I do OK. The "play day" sounds like fun.  We should do that Thursday day before going to the grandparents... Dot

I need one round trip ticket!!! I need it ASAP! I just rechecked prices, cuz I got paid today. Last week $414 - today??? $600 Flippin Dollars!!! OMGSH. I might have to drive to Michigan. 

I have two tickets to fly anywhere in the US that Southwest Airlines flies, but they have to be used by April.  I was going to offer to sell them to you for $300 each, but I just realized that they don't go up into Michigan.  I'm sorry. If you want to go elsewhere, I can help out. Cathy
