Mad!!!

I am so freakin mad at Carnival Cruise line.  I received an email that they were adding on a $5.00 per person per day fuel surcharge onto our total due for our cruise in July 2008. So, I canceled my cruise.  Why has the world become so money hungry? We have decided that we will do an all-inclusive vacation somewhere and give our money to folks who actually need it. So, here I am...mad...but it will pass.  There is always a reason for everything and it is what it is. Tonja

Hey Tonja, I have heard things like that about Carnival - well a few others as well.  The company I use to work for also had a tour company and they were getting additional charges all the time and had to pass them on to the computer after the customer booked at a certain price.  Not good business if you ask  me. My sister usually goes to Cancun and has had a lot of luck with her travel agent.  Good luck on your new adventure.   Brenda

Tonja, that is awful.  Cancun is nice for all inclusive (and a short plane ride from Dallas) and the Bahamas are good too, but usually pricier.  It's also more cost effective to rent condos in places like Akumal, etc. and shop at Walmart for food.  You can get a condo right on the beach, literally walk out into the water and be right there.  My friends with two very small children swear it's the only way to go (a lot of places wanted  more than half price for a 2 year old).

wait wait wait... You already paid for your trip, right?  You had your tickets and confirmation and all that garbage?   Can they do this...legally?  I thought if everything was booked and paid for, then the price is set...much like when you buy an airline ticket...they can't charge you more once prices go up after you've purchased the ticket. Hmmm....Tonja...I'm sorry about this.  I know you were really looking forward to your cruise. Cathy

I was thinking what Cathy said... Sorry you aren't going to go on the cruise now.  Just use that money to do something more fun that doesn't make you mad! I don't think it is right for them to do that either :o(
