denial. copy from main board

so, dont know how many of you read the main boards but I posted because I got denied by uhc :(. THey told the dr office they never got my five year clinical history she said she faxed it and would refax it. then they told her she would have to appeal it? she refused said its not our fault they lost the paperwork. so she resent it. but im really bummed out about the whole deal. I thought I got all the hard pre stuff out of the way. I really wanted the approval process to run smoothly

Sorry you hit a speed bump.  Just know that there are many who have to appeal and do get their approval in the end.  Don't give up! Stay on 'em to get the proper paperwork sent in!!

Lost paperwork is sooooo very common in the approval process for wls. I don't quite understand why. I NEVER hear of people having other medically necessary surgeries denied because of missing paperwork. They simply call the doctor and request it to be sent!!  I know its very frustrating for you!!!! If you want to see how frustrating it was for me, just go back and read my profile..... UGH, my bp goes up just thinking about the stupidity of some people. LOL  All you can do is call Monday and make sure that they sent the paperwork, then call UHC and make sure they RECEIVED the paperwork and go from there.  Best of wishes to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry-it's absolutely absurd the legwork WE have to do.  I am so ready to take on the entire industry, I'm sure they are quaking in their boots.

I know it's very frustrating, but don't give up.    Lots of folks get denied the first time and then ultimately they get approved after their appeal. Keep your chin up !! Loretta
