Looking for more local friends....

I am usually on the RNY board, but I thought it might be a good idea to pop in here and meet some of the locals. I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr Warnock 12/6.  I don't have a lot of support since we're military and away from family and friends. So hello everyone!  Will you be my friend?

Of course we'll be your friend!   I'm so glad you chose to post on our board and join us!  We're a pretty active state board, so it's nice to have new members. I understand about being a military family...where are you from originally? Cathy

I'm orignally from Cleveland, TX.  It's just north of Houston.  From the list of duty stations with an opening for my hubby, this was the closest to home.  It's a heck of a lot closer than we were.  Our last duty station was Walter Reed Hospital in DC.   I actually really like it here.  My only complaint is there's more tornadoes than back home, but our new house on post as a storm shelter so I'm good now.  *LOL* I OK is almost like home to me and I've only been here since January.  I subscribe to the "bloom where you're planted" philosophy though.  :)

I will too.. for a small fee..like say 50 bucks..trust me my friendship is worth ten times that ;)... seriously tho I will be your friend im sure everyone will :) they are really nice in here

Hello there,  my friend you are in the best of hands with the good doctor. I am in Lawton, and had my surgery with him in April. I don't have a lot of time, I work on rotating days on and off and don't make it to the support group meeting because it is during the day. But you will make plenty of friends here, you might also check out Dr Warnocks support group on Yahoo....very active with only his patients.....

I had no idea Dr Warnock had a yahoo group.  I'll be sure to check it out. I guess I'm the only one to find his mannerisims a little creepy.  I admit that I don't trust many men though and knew right off that that was most likely the source of my feelings about him.  I did feel he was more than competent as a doctor though.  I guess I'm just not used to soft spoken men.  *LOL* It's good to see his patients thriving though.  It gives me a little assurance going into this.

Hi,  I sent you a message thought I would introduce myself.  I read your bio and sounds like we are on the same path.  I am hoping to have my surgery in Dec too.  Should hear next week.

Welcome!  I think this is a great board-very supportive and lots of good people.  It has been my main source of support since I just moved here and my support system is scattered all over the country right now (modern life).

I'm almost as far away as I can be and still in the same state, but I'll be your friend. I read your profile.  You have BEAUTIFUL children!!  Sorry about your mom.  Yes, she is young to have a stroke, but I'm glad she is recovering well! I know what you mean about the skinny in-laws.  I have those too.  I have told all of my immediate family of my plans but not any of his side.  I'm not sure if he has told them anything or not...  I don't really plan to tell them unless and until I HAVE to! Nice to see ya on the OK board.  This is my favorite board!  I'm here and the main board daily.  I post her mostly and lurk on the main board, posting occasionally. Dot*
