I'm sooooo tired!  I'm always tired :o(  But, I cannot nap because tonight is my sleep study and I'm already afraid I won't be able to sleep since it will be strange all hooked up and all..... I had an early morning this morning because I had to get myself and the 9 year old up and around to leave by 7:15.  Dropped her off at before school care and went straight to Tulsa for my cardio appointment. All they did was an EKG.  I was kinda disappointed because I was hoping to also have the echo done today but no such luck. The doc did schedule me for an echo on 11-15 and a stress test on the same day.  The stress test will be chemically induced stress.  Has anyone had one of those?  I don't know what to expect! Then, I'll have another visit with him in December to discuss the findings of all of the tests.

Hope your sleep study went well.  They gave me a prescription for Ambien before my study and I took one of them when I went to bed.  I fell right to sleep.

I had a stress test several years ago.  You'll have an IV where they give you the medication to induce the stress.  When they gave me my medication, the nurse squeezed the bag and I felt like my vein was going to explode.  I wanted to slap her.  Other than that, the rest of the procedure went fine.

Thanks for the heads up on the vein exploding sensation!  lol My sleep study was weird...  I was a little freaked out about the tech being a man.  I was tired like you wouldn't believe UNTIL I got there!  They guy kept talking to me, making small talk etc...  Then when it was time for lights out I could NOT turn my brain off!  I finally took a xanax. I have no idea at this point how the test went, he said I was restless, said that I did a lot of "moaning and groaning" (whatever that means). I may have to repeat the test if it is found that I have apnea so they can set up the machine for me.  and it could take up to TWO months to get me in for that test! I got home around 5 this morning and slept again!

I just had the stress test on Thursday.  It wasn't bad at all.  The person that did mine was a man.  First he inserted the IV and it didn't hurt.  They  took pictures of my heart resting that took about 20 minutes and the worst part of that was having my arms above my head for 20 minutes while laying on my back.  A while later another guy came and took me to an area where then put in a bag that held the the thallium and the test lasted 4 minutes but it did feel weird.  One the medication started getting into my vein I felt a warm sensation then my feet and lips started tingling and then I felt a pressure in my chest.  What helped me get through these long four minutes was to remember some breathing techniques and some meditation and go to a good place.  Just try to stay calm, close your eyes and breathe deep and go to a happy place and it will be over with soon.  After the thallium test was over they took another set of pictures for 20 minutes and then it was all over. You will do fine.

I wish I had done the chemical stress test. I did the treadmill last week and passed out. No fun. Tressa

Yeah, I'm kinda glad... I think what tipped him off that I need the chemical text instead of the treadmill is when he was asking me how exhausted I get, I told him I took my daughter's bike only half way down the block and back and thought I was going to die!!!  I seriously felt light headed and it hurt to breathe!  UGH!!!
