So, I typically eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast. But once school started I didn't have enough time in the morning for my oatmeal AND my protein drink. So after a few frustrating days - I got "smart". I add my protein powder to my oatmeal!! Great idea, I don't even taste it, but I do have to add more water to it.  Well, I've been getting soooo hungry about two hours after my oatmeal. Never happened before. Usually oatmeal is a great filler upper!! It went on for about a week. By lunch I'd be absolutely STARVING and want to eat everything in sight!!!  Today I finally figured it out - I was adding too much water to my oatmeal and it became like a "liquid" and not a "solid" food!!! .........  DUH!!!!!!! How is it that at 2.5 years out I could still not get these things figured out!!!  Duh

I love DUH!  moments like these.  It's like that lightbulb goes on and wonder if you should be more embarrassed about missing the obvious or be more proud that you figured it out. Hysterical story...I totally see myself doing something like that. Cathy

I'm still looking for that line between liquid and solid.  Even chicken can be ground up so that it doesn't last as long as it would if it were chewed.

I love that story!  I am glad you figured it out so I could use it when the time comes.  I, too, love oatmeal in the morning and will try adding protein to it and work on the right consistancy now while practicing before my surgery.

Well, I'm glad that someone learned from my sillyness!! lol  I'm getting better at adding protein to all kinds of things. If you get unflavored protein you can add it to soup, puddings, etc... it great your first few months, to help up those protein numbers.
