consultation is done

had my meeting with dr gornichec. it went well. I still have to get some more things that are required.  he said I was a good candidate for surgery because I was fairly small on my upper torso and that makes it easier for him to do the surgery... I need to get my pcp to write a referral letter but I dont see that being a problem she was very supportive when I told her about it. Im currently doing a three month supervised diet with her because dr g's office said they require some record of medically supervised diet and I had none..everything ive ever done I have done on my own I need to get weight history from the year 2005 . I need it for 2002 but I dont have it. they are going to see if the insurance will approve it without this year since its so close to 2007... so keep your finglets crossed for me.. I'm also still really nervous because my bmi in 04 was pretty low because I lost alot of weight..so keep ur finglets cross for me on that too. thanks :)

Congratulations!  It sounds like you're well on your way. For what it's worth, I was unable to come up with my 2002 stats, too, and I was able to get by without it.  Kim is really good at working with the insurance companies to make it as easy on us as possible. Remind me which surgery you're having. You're going to love working with Dr. Gornichec & his staff. Cathy

Is it your insurance or your doctor that requires the doctor assisted weight loss?  I don't know yet if mine is going to require that, but I talked to my PCP on Oct 2 about my weight and WLS and if I have to have a supervised diet, I'm counting that as my first visit with her because my diagnosis for that visit was OBESITY.  I also have another appointment scheduled for November 7 to talk about diet/weight loss again.  That will be one month down if it is required of my insurance.   What sucks is that I haven't lost any weight
