Monday...It's Raining...Cooler Temperatures...

I am so excited that it's raining and we're going to have some cooler weather...finally!!! Did any of you OKC t.v. area folks see the pipers on channel 5 last night or this morning?  My hubby was in there with them.  You could see the top of his big forehead.  I was teasing him about it last night - 'Wow - I just saw the biggest forehead I've ever seen in my life - oh...that was your forehead'.  We're always teasing each other about having such large heads. Anyways, here's the question for the day... As a child (back in the day) or as an adult...did/do you play in the rain?  I remember as a child - going out and dancing in the rain and making mud pies.  Now as an adult, it's not uncommon for me to jump on the trampoline while it's raining (except when we've got some lightening of course). I'm a water person, so I still play in the rain.  I love the autumn evening misty things that aren't quite rain and wetter than fog.  It's like walking through water-ahhhhhhhhhhhh.  The sunroom has some kind of metal roof, so the rain is really loud on it-I love the sound. Earlier this year, when I was in the cast it rained EVERY day at the time I had to walk into the house, and I began to dread it, until I realized that, wait, I LOVE the rain.  So I just ambled my way each day soaking wet, because you can't use a walker and an umbrella at the same time....

As a kid I played in the rain all the time. As an adult I played with my children in the rain. I had to remind my DD that children will not melt so she would let my GDaughter play in the rain.  I also love the sound of rain on a metal roof. But if I am out in it I like a misting rain.

 

Ah, I was born and raised in , so we had a lot of rain....and I do remember dancing in the rain, jumping in the puddles with or without rain boots.... I did that with my children when they were younger and at first they thought their mother went crazy....It makes me miss the "good old time" when we were able to entertain each other with simple pleasures like this, ok so now I am homesick….but I did talk to mother in Germany this morning and they already had 2 nights of frost and the heat on for the last 4 nights….

 

 

Love playing in the rain with the girls. My neighbors must think I am crazy because I let them get in the rain unless there is lightning. Debbie

My best childhood "rain" memory is when my brothers and I would play in the drainage ditches during a rainfall.  Keep in mind, these are those horribly dangerous concrete storm tunnels that go under streets when it rains buckets. I have no idea why we were allowed to play there.  Only one time did a police officer chase us off. Cathy

I have always loved playing in the rain. rarely do I even carry an umbrella.. My kids are 14 and 17 and we all play in the rain together sometimes.... its funny cause the kids at the daycare dont want to play in the rain. they are afraid of getting sick... what kind of parents dont let their kids play in the rain? its free entertainment

Don't you love that old wives tale of getting sick because of playing in the rain. My youngest daughter gets scared of the rain, but I'm eventually going to get her broke from that.  It's more thunder/lightening that gets her. Know what is so weird - my hair usually looks better on days that it's raining.  I've not ever figured that one out. T
