Couple of new pics...

In my Misc. section of my pictures - there are two pics of us out geocaching.  Well...first pic - we just found the cache and were going through it.  The other...I was showing off my new found talent...climbing a tree in the paintball area.  There is no way I could have done that a year ago! Tonja

Thanks for sharing :o) My daughter's girl scout troop has gone geocaching.  She didn't like it (I think she just didn't like her leader and her daughter) but I think it sounds fun!  Maybe I'll have the energy for it one of these days.....

I did a search on a 30 mile radius of Bartlesville and there are 97 geocaches there.  Isn't that so cool.  So, you could be walking/driving by one every single day and not even know it's there. I remember doing Blue Birds back when I was a little girl - but we didn't have a good leader and never did anything interesting. Geocaching is a great family outing!  Just pack a lunch and get out and go! T

That's right up my husband's alley too!!  He is a cartographer...  Do you know (without using a dictionary or google) what a cartographer is?? my dh is all INTO gps stuff... hint:  he uses GPS a LOT at his job...

A map maker I think.  Am I right?

I remember a guy from the Tulsa/Claremore area that had some of the best caches ever because he did surveying.  They always had some history kind of history behind them and got us to places we would never have gone to on our own.

Yes, you are right.  He is a map maker...  Not as fun as it sounds though.  He maps out pipelines :o(  Kinda boring if you ask me!  But, as long as he brings the paycheck home to me I'm good.  He has been doing this line of work for 10+ years but started a new job last month, hence my new insurance that covers WLS!  woo hoo!

On the geocache site you can search by location and they are rated according to the ease of the hike in-in some city caches they are just off the sidewalk.  I actually bought the GPS so that my father and I could geocach together-and we should still give it a try.
