ok. in my five year weight history there is one year 2006 that I am not at a 40 bmi. the highest it was during that year was 38 my insurance company requires a 5 year bmi of 40 or above..so am i just screwed? do I have to wait until 2011 now?

No.

Personally, I wouldn't think you would have to wait.  I would submit everything you can and see what happens. ...thats my thoughts.... a lot of overweight people's weight goes up and down (yo-yo'ing)

I'd definately submit it to insurance no matter what. The insurance company will certainly tell you what you need. They may take it as is, or they may require one more year of 40 bmi to qualify - 2008 is only a couple of months away, so you'll have that pretty quickly!!  Keep your chin up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about the yo-yoing.  We have all done that.  That is why we are here.  Did you see another doctor (OB-GYN, etc) at a different time of that year when maybe you hadn't been on the down side of yo yoing?   I think my ins policy says that I have to have been "overweight" for 5 years prior, not "Morbidly Obese" Since I'm only 5'3" tall, I was "overweight" when I weighed 141 lbs!!  Oh, how I'd love to see that weight now!  lol Go ahead and submit what you have.  I Hope you get approved.  I sure hope one little moment within the past 60 months when you were a 38 wouldn't screw you up!  38 is STILL above 35!!   Do you have any co-mobidities?

Do you have Co morbs? I think most Ins. say above 35 with co morbs! Good Luck!
