Anyone Have United health care??????

Ok my name is Julie and I am trying to find out some info for a friend of mine. She just moved to OK. and recently got married. her husband has UHC and she was wondering if they pay for the Lapband surgery. And if they do what does she have to do to get started with the insurance. If you have any suggestion's please let me know. Please email me at  [email protected] Thank you

I'm sorry, I can't help you...  But, I think UHC is a pretty good one.  I just don't know the ins and outs and what she will be reqiured to do. I have CoreSource and don't know much about it either :(

it depends on the policy. just because one person has uhc and they cover it doesnt mean another person who has it will be covered. sometimes employers take out exclusions on procedures. Your best bet is to call uhc and see if its a covered benefit under their particular policy

I have UHC, but as mentioned before, each employer chooses whether they want that included in their benefits.  I'd recommend that she call UHC and ask them to check. If so, we have wonderful doctors here who perform various WLS that are in UHC's network. What part of OK is your friend in? Cathy

The best way to do it is for her to call her insurance company and ask them.  If she gets a 'no' answer, she needs to ask for documented information stating that they don't.  If they blame it on the job, she needs to get the documented info from them. Also, hee on the forums - she can go the insurance forum - then go to the info section on the left hand side and look that insurance up. She needs to remember - DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.  It's her body! Tonja
