On the RNY board, they have an ongoing post that is SO funny.  Its called NAME YOUR POUCH.  Most of you know that I haven't had my surgery yet so I can't play yet but I'd like to read whay my Okie friends named theirs.  Here is a few that I read this morning.... "Grouchy Pouchy" "Sybil" ":!@#!@!!" "Love Tunnel" I don't know if its just me today or what - It just struck me funny today.

I had named my band 'Lenni'...but I do name everything 'Lenni'.  Especially all the frogs that live around our house.

Ok, love tunnel sounds a bit nasty. I've been considering WLS for years and the whole pouch stoma thing freaks me out still-and I guess I have one now and it still freaks me out. But the band, the tool itself, I have pleasant thoughts about.  Even when it's saying NO, it's doing smething that I wasn't strong enough to do.  Yet, I put it there-(or had it put there) so it is but an extension of me.....so mentally I guess I think of it as "the band....." but that sounds so cold so I will now refer to it mentally as "my little buddy".

I think I'll name mine "Mike" ...after my ex-husband who also used to try to control me and was horrible to me if I didn't follow "his" rules. Cathy

I haven't even considered a name for mine yet.  A friend of mine actually had to have surgery a couple of years ago to have her colon removed, and had to wear a colostomy bag for about a year, and we called it "Liz", after Liz Claiborne.  She had her colon "reconstructed" and doesn't have to wear the "bag" anymore, so I guess I could call mine Liz in honor of her!  :)
