We should do a Oklahoma WLS Banquet of some sort and make it an annual thing.  We could say it was so much per person/couple/family and make it a dress up affair.  We could have awards for different things - but I don't know what yet. We could try to find a common venue that would be a half way point, as much as we possibly could, so it would be easier for folks to meet up. What do you all think?  Would you be game?  This is a ways down the line, but I think it would be a blast. Do you think it's possible and would you be interested? Tonja

Well, we're a ways out from doing it - so we'll say you'll be on the losing side when we do it! Tonja

I'd like to be a part of such an event.  One of my projects is talking to health food stores about "coming out" and being WLS friendly.  I buy a lot of products there, but I always feel like I'm going undercover.  Maybe they could sponsor part of the dinner.  Hey-I wonder if OH would help put one together?

Count me in as well.  It sounds like fun.  I will hopefully be on the losing side when the event happens.  I have my consultation on October 16th and being private pay hopefully I will start off the new year with the band in place.

In Michigan one of the surgical places put on a "bariatric ball" every year. I never went myself, as a preop - there was no WAY I was cramming my fat body into a formal anything. Then as a postop I was one week out of hernia repair/tt so that was out.  But I'd sooooo love to go to something here!!!   It sounds like FUN FUN FUN

I think it sounds fun.  I would also like to be on the losing side before I tried to do anything formal.  I don't even have clothes now because I refuse to buy anything any bigger.  I have one pair of jeans that fit and I wash them all the time.  I have more shirts...   When I was working, I worked in a medical office and wore all white every day.  So, I have a lot of white pants that fit!  But, I don't plan to wear white again for a long time!  I'm so sick of white. when I start losing, I'll have clothes from size 18 down to 14.  If (or when) I get below that, I'll have to buy new things and I'm perfectly OK with that.  If I wear smaller than a size 14, I'll DESERVE new clothes! Dot* here I go again..... (short answer:  YES!  I'd be willing to join you all in a get together for Okie OH'ers)
