Monday Question...

Where is your most favorite place you have ever visited?  We're not talking about where would you go if you could - but, where is the most favorite place you have gone and why? This past spring break (March 2007) we took a 9 day drive through the U.S. and the greatest place we did visit was Natchitoches, Louisiana - especially along the Cane River.  It was so absolutely beautiful.  We did get to go inside one of the plantations and drove by several others.  If I could pick any place to live one of these days, that would be the place.  If I won the lottery, I would buy one of those plantations!  It has such a romantic and quaint feel to the area that it almost takes your breath away - as if you are living in the time period that they came from. So, where is your favorite place and why?  It doesn't matter if it was a place you visited as a kid or as an adult! Tonja

Hi Tonja This was a hard one for me to answer. The best place for me was Germany. Went there with my husband. Most people said I would hate it over there. How wrong. It was great. Rivers, Castles shopping. Someday I want to go back so I can do all the tours I couldn't do because I had two small children. Next would be my home state of CA. Napa Valley and all its vineyards and the ocean within a fews hours drive, love the ocean so peaceful to go walk in the early morning and feel the sand on your bare feet. Would be back in a minute if I could get my kids to move. OK has become their home. crazyeights (Debbie)

The first time I stepped onto the tarmac in Mexico, I knew I was home.  That is still my favorite place-although there are many others that I love.  Old route 66 in the Arizona/Nevada New Mexico Desert is just a trip and brings back childhood memories.  Mountains are cool and I like the piney woods in East Texas an awful lot.  But Mexico is the place I "go" in my mind when I need to get away.  All of Mexico is good, but I like the beaches the best.  Of course, TJ is where I was banded.

This is a hard question. I don't really have a favorite place. But somewhere I'd love to go back to is Pennsylvania. I drove through there once and it was soooo beautiful. All the rolling hills, and I'm SURE it would be the perfect place to go to see fall colors!!!!  OMG**** would be so cool to have a plantation - of course I'd want to dress up in the big, wide dresses too..... oh man, now I want to rent Gone With the Wind.  lol

Well, the thing with Louisiana and the Plantations is I can't get enough of them.  I'm reading everything I can, watching videos, buying picture books of the plantations.  I'm obsessed. T

My favorite place that I have visited was Port Townsend, WA. It is across the sound from Seattle. It is a total tourist town, but it is beautiful. There is no wal-mart or other big chain stores there, there is however one McDonalds. I loved going downtown to the dock and the beach and watching all the seals laying on the boat docs. It is voted on of America's best plasses for a kiss.

My most favorite place to visit would be Roaring River Mo. this was a summer tradition for years. I miss it a lot. It's in the Mark Twain National Forest and is beautiful. Theres a trout hatchery and trout fishing. It is a thing of beauty watching 50 or more people all fly fishing at the same time. Like poetry and art. The air is so clean and smell so nice. The temperatures there always seemed perfect.  The most favorite place I have been was  Sea World in San Antonio Tx. Least favorite vacation was Padre Island. Over rated and my son and I were stung by Jellyfish. ~Dedee
