How long does it normally take to get approval ??   I have been told my insurance , Waterstone is fairly easy ,  my appt with Dr G was Sept.14 , and kim said they would file it , since i only had the sleep study to go ....now i am getting nervous ,,,,

Waterstone seems to be a really fast one from what others have told me.  I bet you will be getting your date soon and getting to go on that wonderful 10 day pre-op diet. Maybe you will hear something this week.  I sure hope so! Tonja

Call Waterstone in the morning.  Ask them the status of their decision.  If they know you're on top of it, they'll work a little faster. Cathy

It's funny, I had CCN/First Health/Healthscope insurance through Chesapeake Energy and I drove them completely nuts.  I called them every single day of the work week.  I think that is why  they approved me - I wouldn't leave them alone.  I seriously felt like I was going insane waiting for that approval.  But, it was so well worth it!!! Just remember to not do the 'last meal' thing like I did.  I had gained 10 pounds just waiting for that approval and had to lose it, plus some extra right before my surgery. Tonja

I will tell you tha****erstone is very easy to deal with. Most of the information that you give to Dr. G's office, Waterstone didn't even use. They just need it for backup purposes. But once they sent all of my info off, it only took them two weeks to approve me.

I called Waterstone today , they had received my info  on Sept . 17 , so i feel pretty good about it ,, thanks for the info ,, do you work for integris too??

It took them less than 10 days for Waterstone to approve me. From what I understand they don't turn any or hardly any down.  Tressa

I am glad the insurance companies are coming around.  BCBS was a complete donkey and I still hate them, although I'm trying not to.  If I were drug or alcohol addicted they'd put me up in a nice center for a month, but obesity is related to lifestyle choices and is voluntary?????  Give me a break.

Some people say bcbs is easy to get approved for the lap band I hope they are right because that is what insurance I have I have all the recomendations from my doctor so they really have no excuse what questions should I ask when bugging them everyday

BCBS is really just an administrator-your company sets the rules.  And on a rational day, I can say fine, their company, their rules.
