Hi!  Just had the bypass five weeks ago.  How do I know what full feels like?  I have only lost about 25 lbs. post op...is that good or bad slow or fast?  My Dr. told me not to weigh myself and I see why.  I do not know what to expect.  Does drinking all tha****er help you lose more quickly?  ANY tips would so be appreciated.  Thanks all...

Can't help with bypass specific questions, but I will say welcome and congratulations on your surgery and your weight loss.  You can make yourself crazy hopping on the scales and comparing yourself to other's weight loss.  Remember, what matter is the 25 pounds that is gone for good. For me-full comes higher up than it used to-pressure in the chest area.

Well, just from a standpoint of not ever knowing what 'full' felt like prior to surgery - I do have to say - it's not about feeling full.  It's about feeling satisfied.  I know for me, 'full' hurts like crazy and I've ate too much.  You need to pay attention to your body and see when it tells you it's done.  Also, I don't know if it's the same for other wls types, but I know for me and having the band, I hiccup twice - of course, I usually know I'm finished and stop - then hiccup. So, long story short - listen to your body!!!  It will tell you! Congrats on being on the losing side and doing so well! Tonja

Dr. Warnock made me promise not to weigh myself at home.  period. You have to drink or you get a kidney infection (I did) Water has no calories.  do not eat till you are full, eat a little and leave it alone, come back to it later, it takes about 2 hrs. to empty your pouch.  Then eat a little more. My surgery was in May, I have lost a total of 73 lbs. since I started with Dr. I am pleased (need to walk more). Chat if you want Lea Ann
